Least expensive option would probably be a dvi to hdmi adapter
Something like this should work

Who told you that you need an active adapter? Perhaps for displayport but for a laptop(HDMI) to monitor(DVI) a standard adapter cable should be fine. I've never tried that single piece adapter that you mentioned but I'm not sure why it wouldn't work if you have the other hdmi-hdmi piece to connect to your laptop.
I use this cord on a similar setup and it works fine.

AmazonBasics DVI to HDMI Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Just bought a mini hdmi to dvid to try. Will it Monday. Resolution changes didn’t do anything unfortunately.
Going to try another dvi d computer monitor. An old widescreen Samsung
And I have another option. VGA to hdmi mini. May try that as well

I ran into this issue when I was using two DVI monitors! I ended up getting a DVI to HDMI cable to use with my 2x HDMI, 1x DVI graphics card. Unless you're planning to transmit audio to your monitors (DVI is display only), this type of cable will work just fine.
Side-note: I did upgrade one of my monitors to a 27" 1440p 144hz IPS monitor, and use DisplayPort (most likely the 3rd port you're looking at) so I can get the higher refresh rate, Adaptive Sync (G-Sync/Freesync), and audio pass-through.

The Dell is the U2715H and the Monoprice is an IPS Zero G # 10509. The Monoprice (the problem monitor) is connected via this HDMI to DVI cable from Amazon. The graphics card is an nVidia 2080Ti. When it was connected to my Mac there was an Apple converter box in between the computer and monitor.

Does the monitor have an HDMI port?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_t1_1Y2QFbXQB097H?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 looks like you’re in luck. It won’t be a very good solution it’ll be running at the PS3’s native resolution but it should technically work

Just get a cable like this and you're golden if it can output 144hz via dvi.

Make sure you get the right length.
Can I ask what you intend to do with the PC as it seems quite expensive at nearly $1200 and I'm sure I could find a better deal.

you can use HDMI to HDMI in monitor 1 VGA to VGA in the second and this cable in the third one.
1 points • Plut0nio
If you're talking about this cable, then that won't work either since it only supports single-link (up to 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz) like every other adapter I've seen. I'm not sure how you're getting 1440p 60 Hz. Does your monitor somehow support that on single-link DVI?
2 points • Emerald_Flame
Any HDMI to DVI cable should work, you don't need an active adapter for HDMI to DVI unless you're talking crazy resolutions or refresh rates.
Something like this would be fine: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014I8UQJY/
Or if you'd rather use the mine-DP, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DJCB83O/

I have this exact same monitor.
You do need to have your connection through the DVI connection to run 144Hz.
However, you can get a cable that has HDMI on one end and DVI on the other if needed. I used this cable from my laptop to my monitor while building my current setup

A cable like this is what I'm talking about https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY/ref=pd_lpo_23_t_0/132-8591518-5537947?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B014I8UQJY&pd_rd_r=0be9cfee-0f02-43e2-b5aa-1d45879ad50c&pd_rd_w=N78h6&pd_rd_wg=Ixci5&pf_rd_p=7b36d496-f366-4631-94d3-61b87b52511b&pf_rd_r=BBKCXQ3VTRKVKRMV6YD0&psc=1&refRID=BBKCXQ3VTRKVKRMV6YD0 You would hook HDMI to console than DVI end to your monitor

I had the exact same issue. I used this HDMI to DVI cable and my DELL 2007 fbp monitor was not being recognized on boot until I added these lines:
> # uncomment to force a specific HDMI mode (this will force VGA)
> hdmi_group=2
> hdmi_mode=51
to the config.txt file to force 1600x1200 60 Hz
You can edit the config.txt file straight off the SD card plugged into a PC.

why not convert the DVI to HDMI for the monitor? that card has 5 outputs (3 display ports, 1 HDMI and 1 DVI)
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY
The reason I suggest the monitor is i'm not sure if the DVI to HDMI cable will add latency to the VIVE or not which might cause some issues.

Honestly I would just buy a new PSU at that point given how you lost a cable and it not being a great PSU.
You could contact Seasonic but I doubt they have any given it is a 10 year old PSU that is now out of production.
You would likely need to order a set of sleeved cables but that would easily exceed the value of the PSU and will put you in mid range PSU territory (high end if you can find one for a normal price). If you need just a PCI-E cable you may be able to find one on its own.

Hey guys, I have an AOC monitor with only DVI D output and it's time to upgrade my R9 390. Will a cable like this work to avoid purchasing a new monitor as well?

You will need a hdmi to display port adapter, amazon link to one with a standard hdmi cable, or a hdmi to dvi amazon link to that

Describe why you need the graphics card a bit more. Are you trying to hook up a TV to your computer? Do you need sound on the TV as well? Are you trying to play certain video games, but the fps is too low?
If you're trying to connect your TV or an HDMI screen - they have VGA to HDMI adapters, as well as DVI to HDMI, and DisplayPort to HDMI cables. Take a photo or two of the back of your computer, and we could give you better advice on how to hook it up.
An Nvidia 710 is a cheap choice, but not really suitable for gaming. The 1030 can handle basic gaming.

You won’t always find multiple HDMI ports on lower cost monitors, but you can pick up HDMI to DVI or HDMI to VGA adapters for pretty cheap like this or this. I would recommend this monitor, it’s $100, a little bit of a size and resolution upgrade to 21.5” and 1080P at up to 75hz.
If you have extra left in you budget upgrading to a nice mouse is well worth is if you like to game. Both Corsair and Logitech make some pretty affordable options.

This monitor has DVI and VGA connections: * The blue connector that's not connected there is VGA, which is analog. * The white connector that has the cable connected to it is DVI, which is digital.
To get the best picture quality, you'll want to use the DVI connector for both computers. This is because it's good to maintain the signal type throughout the connection. Because both computers are outputting a digital video signal (via HDMI), if you connect to VGA, you'd end up converting the signal from digital (within the computer) to analog (within the cable) to digital (within the monitor). If you connect over HDMI, then it's digital the entire way. The difference is very apparent, so you'll definitely not want to use VGA.
To get both computers to connect to a single input, you might look at using some kind of HDMI switch.
To connect the HDMI switch to the monitor, you'll need an HDMI to DVI cable.
To connect the MacBook Pro 2014 (Thunderbolt/HDMI) to the HDMI switch, use a normal HDMI cable.
To connect the MacBook Air 2020 (USB-C) to the HDMI switch, use a USB C to HDMI adapter, like this one, or you can use the one Apple makes.

I'm using dual link DVI on my 144Hz antique monitor. If you have a 2080 I assume it doesn't have DVI. If I'm not mistaken you are adapting that to dvi, right? First, make sure you are using the correct type of DVI:
http://www.cableone.com.cn/photo/cableone/editor/20140626150620_29910.jpg
I didn't research this hard so verify it before buying but give this a try:
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-DVI-to-HDMI-Cable/dp/B014I8UQJY/
I went through a lot of cords to get 144Hz. It's worth it though!

Options (cause I like options):
- You have an HDMI port -- so any monitor that has HDMI will work
- You can also get an HDMI to VGA or HDMI to DVI wire and a monitor that has that specific port - super useful if you're getting older/cheaper monitors
- You have multiple USB 3.0 ports -- Any USB to HDMI adapter will work
- Any USB C Dock will work -- Aukey has a nice one
The beauty of getting a docking station - is you only have 2 wires to unplug (power & peripherals) if you want to move. Some Docks also include power to the laptop - they tend to be more expensive.
Note: all of the links are to Amazon -- you can get these from any online store and there are lots to choose from.

Here is an extremely compact pc: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZNBQ27
- The case mesures 9 in by 13in and is 4 in tall
- I went with intel because amd mini itx motherboards are expensive
- You can save $45 by neglecting the cd drive
- If by "games with simple graphics" you mean 2d games like stardew valley or rimworld (awesome game), then you go with this build and save some money: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RTDrBZ by using the integrated graphics on the cpu. If you are talking about minecraft or civ, then keep it as is and ignore this point.
- You would need 1 display port to hdmi cable if you are going with the gpu, or 1 display port to dvi cable you are using integrated graphics. Or if you are using only 1 monitor or your 2nd monitor has display port input or dvi input, then use that and ignore this point.
- 1tb ssd should be plenty for both programs and files
If you doing mind performance then this part list should outperform a 10 year old laptop but would be a potato compared to the build I listed above: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ksgYCL

Edit: since you are going to build in 30 days, feel free to PM me when you want to buy the parts since prices do change.
