Or, to make sure you never need another dongle again, get this bad boy:

Works with my Chromebook perfectly.

Why not just get the gaming laptop you want and then hook it up to a USB-C hub like this?

For $12 more i bought one of these that offers more versatility. It works well. I really wanted a Thunderbolt dock but couldn't justify the crazy cost of those since it's for my company laptop while I'm working from home.

I am using this but not really a fan. This gets the work done but I am honestly leaning more towards buying a docking station.

It sounds like you're talking about the MacBook Air.
I'm not sure why they used two hubs, why they didn't use the audio-out port on the MacBook, or why they didn't use a power adapter. You can find single hubs that have all the above for pretty cheap.
Here's one that includes it all plus VGA for $30
I have a smaller one that doesn't include VGA, because I have no use for that.
Here's the thing... I rarely need the hub. When I hiked across the Swiss Alps last year, it was nice knowing that my MacBook was absolutely as small and light as possible without these things I would not use.
When I travel to a conference, I bring the hub... and like most people, a power adapter. Increasingly though, my hub just stays in the bag.
This article is over a year an a half old, and really it was out of date at the time:
>Most monitors are HDMI and devices like mice, card readers, and hard drives still use USB-A ports. Not every laptop owner needs all of these ports, but for each one you do need, you have to buy a dongle or an adapter. If you wanted to use your new MacBook for everything you did with your old one, you would need to spend $158 to get your ports back. And if you don't buy all the dongles, your old accessories are now obsolete.
The thing is with the exception of HDMI and Ethernet, most of what I plug in has either been upgraded to USB-C or I've used an USB-C to Micro-USB cable. You can get USB-C to USB-A adapters for $5 each and just leave them on the old cables/devices.
The bottom line is that I think Apple made the right decision with moving to USB-C the way they did on the Macs. My one complaint is that I wish they had moved to USB-C universally across all of their products instead of continuing to support Lightning.

USB dongle. It's great! And works on my android too. Don't buy the hyperdrive dongle, it seems premium but it sucks.

Best way to get a good price is to talk to USA reps. That means no chat, you have to call and keep shopping around.

I've had this one for about 1.5 months and has been good for me, though obviously that's a very short time frame and doesn't help much. I went through a good bit of research to find the best one I could under the $40 price range.
I wish I could answer your questions but I would not be able to reliably do so.

I bought this hub for like $30 and I got a triple monitor (1080p) with HDMI, VGA and my X1 Carbon monitor. I also had power, Ethernet and a USB mouse and keyboard plugged in. The screens lagged a little but it was quite useable. It did get pretty warm to the touch though.

If your other laptop doesn't have USB C that kinda kills your fancy dock options. I got a new personal laptop just for USB C, it was a must.(Video and power over it required too)
I use a Dell Ultrasharp monitor with USB C video in, I plug my keyboard, mouse, speaker, and a ethernet adapter to the USB on it, as well as my other monitor via displayport passthrough.
I can plug it into my work and personal laptop with just one cable for power, display, and data, and I can also switch it to my desktop by just plugging the cable into it and switching the video on the monitor to displayport. Once I get a video card with USB C on it it'll be just one cable for that too.
However, Ultrasharps have only 60hz refresh rate so most people don't like them for gaming. You can get an adapter like this to be able to plug just one cable in without any special hardware.

Most people on this sub went a long way to justify headphones and a dac/amp that comes in at a few hundred dollars or more, all to cut themselves short at 320 KBPS mp3s because it's slightly more convenient? Idk dude.
Edit: Also, if you have a dongle like this, you can plug in a flash drive/sd card. Definitely not the coolest solution, but it works.

What is the model of your LG monitor ? If you are doing just 2560x1080P with HDMI, you don't need a docking station but a "type-C HUB with HDMI + USB hub ports". This solution is much cheaper (under $50). Looks similar units like this: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Charging-Ethernet-Compatible-Thunderbolt/dp/B07TVSLDND/ref=pd_rhf_se_s_pd_deals_sim_b2b_0_6/147-4735779-7144643?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07TVSLDND&pd_rd_r=e9536552-934c-4b73-8559-115f77ca1fe2&pd_rd_w=f1uZg&pd_rd_wg=co8s5&pf_rd_p=f67ca928-083e-40ba-b97f-66bede5ab634&pf_rd_r=J8DW3RTZX1SZ4H4BB6AZ&psc=1&refRID=J8DW3RTZX1SZ4H4BB6AZ

This is what I've been using. It has everything I could possibly need and it's cheap. Mine has been going strong for a few months no issues. Comes with a carry bag too.
The only thing I would change would be adding some rubber bumpers to the edges, the metal casing is pretty loud when it shifts across a desk. Normally I just put the bag under it.

This is what I was afraid of. Here is the hub I have. Looks like I will try and get in touch with the company and see if they can send me another unit. This the only usb-c hub that I've found that can do vga or dvi and ethernet, my must haves. Over the past 10 years of being in the ecosystem, I've had enough of apple's accessories to know their qc isn't any more robust than no name brands on amazon anyway lol

I bought this one and it's worked for me just fine, although any regular USB-C hub should work. Haven't used USB-C power, laptop still works after 2+ months of use with the dock. Everything's plugged into it and it runs just fine.

You can still drive both monitors with either the adapter ashapte mentioned in his answer or with an USB C adapter like this one.

USB C hub options
I'm looking for some suggestions on portable USB hubs for the 7390 I'm using. I currently have this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TVSLDND/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
But it doesn't seem to allow for USB mice and keyboards to work. I know the device is working correctly because I can use it in other computers and the usb devices work without issue. Something about the XPS's software prevents my mouse from working. USB drives work just fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a simple hub that works with wireless mice/keyboards and still has HDMI output?

A basic hub is like $30. You just have to plug / unplug one cable.
Some monitors even have a USB-C port that carries power, video, and connects to the USB hub in the monitor. It's nice.

i use an inkling one. It takes up one port, and has a short wire, but it has tons of other ports. 2 usb 3.0s, sd card reader, micro sd card reader, theres a usbc port but its not thunderbolt and can only be used for charging (not an issue for me with an mbp as i just use the other thunderbolt port), gigabit ethernet, vga, hdmi, and even an audio jack which i dont use but its still nice.

I have my acer spin 713 (second gen, i5 10th gen intel) connected to a 4k tv as a monitor. if I connect it via the included hdmi port it only wants to use 1080p. That does work fine but I want 4k. I have a 40" samsung.
The samsung tv has 60p 4k capability on one hdmi input, make sure you enable it in your tv. I had to buy an iKling dock, unpowered. I connect that to usb-c on the laptop and then hdmi to the tv, and that works with 4k reliably. About once a week I come back after leaving it overnight and have to unplug and replug the hdmi cable to get it to see the tv.
I also have the more expensive caldigit ts3. That does not work with the acer spin 713 at all. I believe that's because the dock is a thunderbolt only device, and the laptop is not thunderbolt of course. The dock worked great with my macbook of recent vintage that had usb-c thunderbolt - and got my 4k monitor use. It was this - https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Charging-Ethernet-Compatible-Thunderbolt/dp/B07TVSLDND. - about $30. Note the name says "thunderbolt" so I don't know why this works with acer and the $200 caldigit doesn't.
It wonder why it doesn't work to drive 4k from the acer 713 hdmi directly, it could be a tv limitation or a usb-c acer chromeos limitation. I tried it many times, maybe got it to work a few times but it was unstable. Just buy the ikling, it doesn't need to be separately powered, I connect ethernet and mouse and keyboard.

I use this, works great so far. Only issue (not related to the dock) is that fps gets locked to 60fps if gaming unless you close the laptop - something to do with the dual displays. If you want to game or run higher powered apps at full speed, you also need to plug in the ac adapter, but for normal office type of use there's no need as it'll get power from the usb-c.

For the dock, I wanted ethernet, so I bought the cheapest one on Amazon I could find at the time (this one). Same thing with this USB-C to DisplayPort adapter. I'm using an old MSI MAG27C as my monitor; there are definitely newer, better ones out there now.
Edit: Also, I leave the lid open so I can use the built-in display as a secondary monitor for Discord/etc.

.... i have been using this with Anker 45W/15W charger since day one... everything seems to work just fine... also here is link to a "shortie" right-angle extension cord which provides a little extra length so the hub can rest on the desktop without 'hanging' from the USB-C plug and also keeps me from having to worry about the USB-C snapping off where it plugs into the Go2...

You would need to get a usb-c dock that has multiple out ports (these can get pretty expensive) or you can get the surface dock, but this is severely outdated with mini-display ports, and would need adapters for those. Here are some examples:
Surface Dock: https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-PD9-00003-Surface-Dock/dp/B0163HP38W

You can't connect 2 VGA into 1 VGA port. It's an analog connection, it will just send the same signal to both. You need to get something like this which will allow you to connect 2 different display types to your laptop: https://www.amazon.com/RayCue-Graphics-Converter-Compatible-Firestick/dp/B07F31XDJS/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=vga+duel+display+adapter&qid=1587766430&s=electronics&sr=1-5&swrs=219ECE24BDB7DA26C0120F455F4A1D1E

Alternatively get a laptop docking station like this: https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Universal-Docking-Station-Ethernet/dp/B00ECDM78E/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=laptop+dock&qid=1587766526&s=electronics&sr=1-4

Or if you have a usb-c port something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Charging-Ethernet-Compatible-Thunderbolt/dp/B07TVSLDND/ref=sr_1_22?dchild=1&keywords=laptop+dock&qid=1587766557&s=electronics&sr=1-22

These are items your job should be able to reimburse you for or purchase for you.

- You obviously need a 4 wire cable.
- you need to make sure the 5th. Pin is connected correctly. How this pin is connected determine which side of the cable is the Slave and which the Master. You need to modify a USB micro-b for that.
- https://makezine.com/projects/usb-otg-cable/ alternative is to mess with a USB C able but that is much more tricky.
- Maybe use this Adapter https://www.mobilefun.co.nz/official-samsung-micro-usb-to-usb-c-adapter-black-64236 and then insert a modified micro usb cable into the adapter. The Adapter comes with the S8 so maybe he still has it.
- Also included the S8 package is this Adapter https://www.apfelkiste.ch/samsung-original-otg-usb-auf-usb-c-adapter-connector-schwarz.html which is exactly what you want.
- I highly recommend buying one of these usb-c multi-port dongles. They are super useful. You can connect a HDMI port + a Keyboard + Mouse ( or a controller) all at the same time. https://www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B07TVSLDND/
