Do you recommend the Acer Nitro 5 (RTX 2060, i7-9750h)?

I'm looking for a cheap (~$1050) laptop that will handle AAA gaming and will last for 3-4 years. I'm very tempted by this deal as it has everything I'm looking for (rtx 2060, i7-9750h, 16gb ram, 144hz display, 256 GB SSD with upgrade options), and it fits perfectly in my budget. I want some insight on this and your opinions on if it's a good deal or not. Thanks in advance.

Man, if it was like, 700$, that'd bea nice deal.

But 899$?

You can regularly find NEW Helios 300 for that prince...with 9750 and 144HZ, alongside 16GB of RAM.

Fuck, in fact, right now, I just found a Acer Nitro 5...with a 2060!

https://www.amazon.com/i7-9750H-GeForce-MaxxAudio-Keyboard-AN515-54-728C/dp/B08777BH1B/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=Acer+predator+helios&qid=1597899036&sr=8-5

And 16GB, 144HZ, 9750H ect...for 1018$. 100$ more...for a system that is miles ahead.

Honestly A Acer Nitro 5 would be a good option although, you don't need the extra GPU power it has 144hz, 16GB of RAM and a i7 9750h with a RTX 2060 for 999 dollars

I’m getting this version of the Nitro 5 with RTX 2060, which is better than the GTX 1650. It has an open slot for another hard drive/SSD, so I’m planning on upgrading it with an SSD. This might be of interest to you.

The only downside is you’d have to wait a month or so for it to be delivered. I’ve accepted the wait and expect it in late July.

>I've also heard about things like "quad-cores" and "High CPU/GPU"

Quad core is the number of cores, more cores = better performance. Also number of threads is important. About high cpu/gpu, you might mean High-end, (aka stronger cpu/gpu) which are the most recent cpus/gpus (example: 8th/9th/10th gen intel cpus, 4th gen amd ryzen cpus, some nvidia gtxs like 1070Ti/1080Ti, and all the rtx gpus).

The games you listed don't require a good laptop, so finding a laptop will be easy. You also said: >if the price goes a little over 1k that's fine, too

Assuming you are in the USA, this costs 1k $ and comes with a i7-9750h gen core and an rtx 2060 gpu which is very good, also has 16Gb ram, a 144hz screen and a SSD: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08777BH1B/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_ECwIFb2QZ3DWB

Hope i helped!

This Acer Nitro 5 is a beast and will run all your games at ultra-high graphics and solid 60+ FPS. Very good for digital art and editing too.

As specs go, if you're looking into other models, look for atleast 16GB RAM (or 8GB with an upgradeable slot) and a 4GB dedicated graphics card or higher.

Pre-pandemic, I wouldn't buy that computer for 30% off.

Now...hard.

For Premiere, it comes down to: cpu top per-core speed, cpu core count, and SSD yes/no. GPU next but your options are limited and a laptop will never be a desktop (where GPUs lead a better life). The rest is mostly irrelevant, especially on a laptop.

So base a purchase around the CPU. The fastest/best you can afford. Typically SSDs are easily upgraded, so something like this is one upgrade away from being a beast. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-i7-9750H-MaxxAudio-Keyboard-AN515-54-728C/dp/B08777BH1B

Considering a desktop computer and/or the used laptop market will open up more options for you.

I hope you didn’t pay too much for that. You might want to have done more research, most new gaming laptops come with a RTX 2060 or better and 9th or 10th gen processors.

Also you’re not going to have a good time on IL2 without a decently sized external monitor.

I looked at your post history. You’d get better performance at a cheaper price with this:

Tell me about it (navy mechanic who learned all this stuff just last year). It's faster but not by an obscene amount for gaming. The current standard is a i7-9750h and comparing them (pay attention to the darker red and purple boxes) the difference is within 5 fps for most games and maybe 20 fps for games like Counterstrike or Overwatch.

You won't find many in the price range though. I fact, I only see one right at $1k.
