Is this a good deal? I was also looking at the https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XV272U-Pbmiiprzx-Technology-DisplayHDR400/dp/B07MQBPMJ2/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=acer+1440p&qid=1601502451&sr=8-2 for 300

I got this deal last week and am using this monitor right now w a 1070ti. Picture quality is great. Colors great. I don't like what the HDR setting does to the colors so I'm not using it. Backlight bleed is not bad at all. I like that it's 28 instead of 27" like a lot of panels in this category.

As far as gaming is concerned, again, beautiful image until you have motion, whether scrolling or panning in an FPS. Seems prone to tearing despite adaptive sync, and it blurs a fair ammount. It's not horrible, not even that bad or distracting, but definitely noticeable compared to a higher refresh 1440 screen.

For $210 (or the $160 it was for sale at briefly) I think it's amazing for the crisp 4K dpi and IPS image quality. However, it's def not a first choice for gaming, both due to ghosting and 60 hz refresh. It really comes down to what you want. You can get a 1440p 1ms 144hz for about the same price (such as this https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XV272U-Pbmiiprzx-Technology-DisplayHDR400/dp/B07MQBPMJ2 )

Er...I'm not a detail obsessive user, I just want stuff to work how it should, so I don't have much more insight than that. But ask any questions I'll try to answer.

When I start my computer up, I sometimes have issues getting it to to windows. I press the start button, the ASUS screen shows up, then my monitor (XV272U Pbmiiprzx) goes into that "no signal" type standby mode. Everything is lit up in my computer, peripherals are lit up, but no Windows logo or home screen. I sometimes spam the mouse and keyboard like I'm trying to wake it up from sleep mode and after about 30-60 seconds it'll bring me right to the login screen, but more often I have to restart the computer and it boots correctly

I noticed in the BIOS that the M.2 which has windows installed wasn't in the boot order section, however if I clicked "boot drive" button it would pop up, and I could click on it to instantly boot.

What am I missing here? Is this is monitor issue? Or is there something weird with the boot order? It SEEMS like my computer is trying to boot to a drive without windows on it, but I'm not sure how to fix that

XV272u from Amazon for $300. I bought this from a BAPCS post about 3 weeks ago. I’ve had no issues, no backlight bleed (turn it to 40% brightness or lower, no madman uses it at 100 which causes the BLB), no dead pixels.

If you're talking about this or anything similar, then you completely ignored the second point I made about misleading response times in IPS monitors.

I also think you are vastly underselling just how much $100 is. You're right that we aren't in the same ballpark, because you've got the mindset that literally the only thing that matters is color reproduction. The guy asked for resources to learn about monitors, and you literally said "IPS is the only thing that matters. Oh and refresh rate. But IPS is the most important." Like, you don't even know what the hell he's looking for. I personally prefer IPS monitors because of the brighter colors, but that doesn't mean it's for everybody.

My only point is that each display technology has its own pros and cons. Not everybody is looking for the most accurate colors or even cares enough. Not everybody has $100 to throw around, and not everybody has the same priorities.

If we're talking about 144Hz, it's same to assume we're talking about competitive gamers, yes? Which do you think they would generally care about more, colors or performance? As for viewing angles, how often are gamers looking at their monitor from an angle?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MQBPMJ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_NnaHFb1Q6EXYD there's this one but I would assume the IPS in the LG is superior in response time. Both panels are the same in gaming performance on both LGs models, it's just the more expensive one has better colors and usb 3.0 slots?

LG is a good brand yes but have you by chance checked out this 27" 1440p 144 Hz 1ms IPS Acer for $300? Looks like you save $80 from the LG for the same specs.

Good FreeSync/GSync implementation, pre-calibrated and a built in PSU. The same reviewer said he refused to even look at Acer monitors for a while and then mentioned these pros and said the only con is there's a "good amount of backlight bleed". I like to think this is a minor issue from his POV since he did give it 5 stars instead of 4. Should be worth at least checking out.

This is the monitor was $300 for an IPS panel, 27", 144Hz, 1440p, integrated speakers, and USB hub but some of the reviews say that it has terrible black bleed I took the risk because I have 2 1080p 75Hz Acer monitors that match that I use for web browsing and production, so I took the risk and it's from amazon so can always return it.

Anything around 27" and $250 - $350. I found this monitor here and it's on sale with some really good specs, 1440p, 144hz. Even though it's not 4k, I think this would be really good for the ps5, right?

I'm not Mr. Chief but I don't think so, same resolution as the IPS ones on sale right now for less but 5 inches bigger, less pixel dense and its VA. I would wait for the prime day and black friday sales for something better. Not sure.

Edit: I'm stupid this is ultrawide and same pixel density, not sure on pricing now. The one I was referencing was the acer IPS one, that one had a sale recently I think, for the same price: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MQBPMJ2

Acer XV272U Pbmiiprzx

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MQBPMJ2?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

Currently $429.99 or £327

My roommate has one and as long as you don't turn the overdrive to max there's no inverse ghosting and no regular ghosting. As far as I can tell the colour accuracy is good and the build quality is excellent.

Acer XV272U

In your price range(so long as you aren't buying from 3rd party sellers on Amazon/Newegg), 27in, 1440p, IPS, 144Hz, 1ms response time.I have one of these in my household, and it's worked great for the past few months, knock on wood. Beats my other Dell(don't judge, it was great when I got it) G-Sync monitor by a mile.

Im building my first PC and have a few questions about part compatibility. (I’ll be running a Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3070 when available, RTX 2060 KO Ultra until then). I want to hit at least 144hz/fps and 1080p and 1440p. And I want to run dual monitors later on. Im worried about bottlenecking my build or making some kind of crucial mistake.

I purchased an Acer 27” Nitro XV2 Series (XV272U). A 1440p 170hz IPS monitor. It has FreeSync and drivers for GSync. The Monitor

Will I be able to hit 144hz (or even 170hz) using HDMI 2.0? Or do I need Display Port or another type of video cable?

My motherboard is an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max. It only has one HDMI port. Will it output 144hz-170hz to the monitor? MSI B450 Tomahawk Max info

Since my motherboard only has one HDMI port am I unable to run dual monitors?

The 27" came on sale here for 300 and I took a leap and bought it. So glad I did.

It's not going to a problem. 4MS GTG is pretty fast especially given console frame rates. You likely wouldn't notice the difference.

But if it really means that much to you, there's some monitors that can achieve \~ 1MS GTG with overdrive and low latency VRB, like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XV272U-Pbmiiprzx-Technology-DisplayHDR400/dp/B07MQBPMJ2/

Looking for a monitor with:

  • IPS
  • 1440p
  • G-Sync compatible
  • At least 144hz

Any length is fine. I'll be using it mostly for gaming, primarily multiplayer. My price limit is $500-$550. New or used is fine. Here are a few I'm already considering:
