I've been searching for a 1080p 144hz monitor and I think I found one, but it seems deceivingly cheap. The monitor is the KG241Q Pbiip, and it is on sale for $149.99. Can anyone verify that this monitor is legitimate?

I went w this one and could not be happier (played the majority of 19 on a 65inch) took a couple of games to get used to the difference but I’ve noticed a huge difference in game play.

Edit: I don’t watch tv on this monitor strictly gaming so if you’re looking for both maybe the 27 would be better

I left a comment about how I would hook you up with a 1070 for 100$ plus half the shipping if you’re interested in a few months. Enjoy your 580 for now, but the 1070 is a good upgrade and still better than 1660 ti. And that’s just as a favor, I don’t need to sell it, only if you would want the deal.

Also, Im leaving this second comment because before you upgrade anything on the computer, upgrade your monitor. This is a 150$ 1440p 1080p 1ms TN panel which have the best response times and smoothest motion. Works with freesync for your 580, and an Nvidia card is also compatible with freesync over displayport so they make the most sense. This is a great monitor for an RX 580. My 1070 can handle a 1440p 144hz monitor, but not on Ultra in new games, so a 1070 would be the perfect 1080p beast to max this monitor at ultra settings. Check it out man!!

Starting with monitors, I would highly recommend getting a high refresh rate monitor because they’re just so much nicer to do anything on. Here’s a really good acer unit I’ve loved

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MG85X1M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_EjSJEbHFXHRNX

As for dual monitors, they do not need to be the same at all, basically any two monitors will work together just fine.

Keeping your laptop plugged in 24/7 is perfectly fine and I’ve been doing it for years. My setup used to be my laptop hooked up to an external monitor and it’s a dual monitor setup just like that with the laptop screen and the monitor.

I use the Acer KG241Q Pbiip - ($180) 144Hz, 1ms response, IPS 1080p, Free-sync.

It does not say "gaming" in the name on Amazon but is currently out of stock there. You may be able to find it elsewhere, but I did see "gaming" in the name on Newegg. Think about looking for monitors you like on different sites and see if the "gaming" name is dropped or not.

Really liked your important message edit. I've been there with my parents, we get along well but sometimes you just need to keep things to yourself to make it easier. Best of luck with it

I can’t really give a suggestion because all the good priced monitors are out of stock but in general you should be paying around 200$ usd for a 1080x1920 144hz monitor 24in

Edit: this is a good one for the price https://www.amazon.com/Acer-KG241Q-Pbiip-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07MG85X1M/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=144hz+monitor&qid=1594332398&sprefix=144hz+mon&sr=8-3

This isn't really the place to ask, but I will try to help you out, your budget is too low for 4k (I think , I am not an expert), and if you are going to game on it I suggest you look for a higher refresh rate rather than a high res screen, with that said, there is a sale on this one that you might like.

If you can stand lower res, then that works, I personally would rather play at 1080p 60 just because when monitors aren’t running native resolution it looked even worse than it should at the new res. Your best bet it to probably just save up and get a new one if you are chasing a higher refresh rate.

Here is 2 144hz 1ms 24” monitors

Here’s a curved one for $145.

Looks like a solid build to me. However, personally I'd go for liquid cooling with a rig that powerful but a fan cooler will work too. I imagine with a build like that you'll be wanting minimum 1080p 144hz. I recommend the Acer KG241Q monitor. Looks great and relatively cheap: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-KG241Q-Pbiip-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07MG85X1M/ref=sr_1_1?crid=XLZNGSB8HMAV&dchild=1&keywords=1080p+144hz+monitor&qid=1586529066&sprefix=1080p+144hz+%2Caps%2C231&sr=8-1

I can recommend the Acer KG241Q, it has worked nicely for me. This AOC in the OP however, has soured me on that brand. I purchased one on Amazon in November and it had a bunch of dead pixels. I had a replacement sent out and there were dead pixels in another spot. Happened again with another replacement after that. I then got a refund and purchased the Acer monitor and have had no issues.

Tough to say why it might feel different, but it’s most likely due to lag because of an update or just because our bodies feel different day to day. It might seem silly but working out regularly can help this. Keeps you from having a mental fog mostly, but also helps posture and confidence. A consistent warm up routine, even if it’s only 15 minutes will also help eliminate a lot of the variation you feel.

I have this monitor and my roommate uses this one . We play in the same room and I can’t tell any difference between the 2. You can’t flip it to portrait mode, but if that’s not worth $50 to you I’d recommend that Acer he uses for sure.

So here are a couple options

If you like the monitor that you use for your PC you can also plug that into it too as you can use an HDMI from the PS4 and use a DP for your PC

If you want to have two separate devices (like if you want to look at your PC and also use your PS4) you can look at these options.

Now I'm not entirely sure what you bought for your PC but you can always buy a second one for your PS4. If you like a bigger screen to play on, don't care how it looks, and you don't care about the hz, you can try [this] (https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-VX3276-MHD-Frameless-Widescreen-DisplayPort/dp/B0787WGCXT). Now it's 1080p and 32 in so the ppi (pixels per inch) will be less than a smaller monitor.

If you want a smaller monitor but it looks better, you can go with this [monitor] (https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XF270HU-Cbmiiprx-FreeSync-Monitor/dp/B07YGY3RMQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=xf270hu&qid=1595004096&sr=8-2). This one is more similar to the XFA240 as it is also made by Acer. It's also 1440p which looks great.

If you want something a little cheaper, [this] (https://www.amazon.com/Acer-KG241Q-Pbiip-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07MG85X1M/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=Acer+KG241Q&qid=1595004317&sr=8-3) which is smaller than the others, is only 1080p but is $144.

Hope that all helps.

This PC would be great for streaming and gaming.

https://www.amazon.com/iBUYPOWER-Computer-Desktop-ARCW-105A/dp/B07V7YQ2JS/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=ryzen+7+3700x+pc&qid=1581374871&sr=8-4

Since its CPU (Central processing unit) is one of Ryzen's newest and best generations of CPUs, it would produce great quality for the people you're streaming to, the CPU is called the "Ryzen 7 3700X". Additionally the Ryzen 7 3700X is a great CPU for video editing and photo editing as well, there would be minimal delays, and the CPU is rated top 20, out of 1200+ other different CPUs in terms of overall performance.

Next up is raw gaming performance, which the GPU (Graphics processing unit) is responsible for. The GPU is commonly called the graphics card, in this PC, it used the GTX 1660, one of Nvidia's newer models of medium end graphics cards. It performs well in most games that don't demand a super high quality card, here is some video testing results: https://youtu.be/zvdNrfyCQ-g

16GBs of RAM will be enough for any content creator. RAM allows for multiple processes to run at once such as games, recording/streaming software, and Discord.

You do mention a shortage of storage space for your current PC, this is solved with the 1TB of storage space, alongside with the 240GB SSD. Even if you manage to run out of space, you can still utilize external storage solutions, or even transfer your previous files to this PC.

You wouldn't NEED a new monitor, but if you yourself want to enjoy gaming and streaming, and you don't already have a 1920 x 1080p monitor, this one is cheap and would be good price for performance: https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-E225W-19203R-Monitor-Speakers-Metallic/dp/B07774L6TT/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?keywords=1080p+monitor&qid=1581377071&sr=8-4

However if you're looking to the more competitive gaming side, this monitor would be better, as you will see more frames per second: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-KG241Q-Pbiip-FREESYNC-Technology/dp/B07MG85X1M/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?keywords=1080p+monitor+144hz&qid=1581377123&sprefix=1080p+monitor&sr=8-5

If you have any other questions feel free to ask me, or one of the mods, or r/buildapc, they could help answering questions about nearly anything about computers.
