That one, I believe someone over on the Android TV sub used it with their Sabrina and confirmed it works.

I'm using a less expensive hub https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B089M7WSHM?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

This is a not a gigabit ethernet dongle unfortunately. There has been confirmed support that third party usb-c ethernet dongles are supported.

The current top recommendation is this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089M7WSHM

You can buy a USB hub like this which plugs into the USB-C port on the CC and gives you additional USB ports for accessories like your dongle. However, the hub requires a power supply capable of running all the accessories. If you're just using a dongle, the CC PS may be sufficient. Or you could just buy a cheap pair of BT earbuds/headphones.

People on the other thread are recommending this Aukey one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B089M7WSHM

But there might be cheaper options if you don't need as many ports or Ethernet.

I bought one of these for my mag15.

It's great to have it on wired internet and easily connect to my external monitor, keybaord and mouse.

Yes. Get a USB-C hub that includes a power port and ethernet port. I use one for my laptop, but I have used it on my phone before. I know for mine, the dongle only works if you have the charging cable plugged in because I assume the hub needs power to run.

Edit: the one I use https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089M7WSHM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_dlC_bE8ZFbTN8YAP7

  1. As others have said, this shouldn't be a problem.
  2. I got this hub so I could have wired ethernet + charging + peripheral devices and it works great. One caveat though - if you're going to be connecting to an external monitor, you need to get a hub that supports DisplayLink, otherwise it maxes out at 1080p@30Hz which not many monitors support. DisplayLink hubs are quite a bit more expensive but you should be able to find something for under $100 an external monitor is required.

One option I've found is this Belkin adapter with gigabit ethernet + power delivery for $35

https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Ethernet-Passthrough-Connected-INC001btBK/dp/B086SV2FK4/

If anyone sees a better option, let me know.

Edit: /u/superdroidtv found this hub for $25.

I'm just really hoping something like this will work with it: https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Ethernet-1000Mbps-Thunderbolt-Chromebook/dp/B089M7WSHM/

Get your ethernet back and add the ability for 2.4 GHz keyboard and mouse. Or maybe a steering wheel...

sadly, another USB-C hub didn't work either. This 5 in 1 Aukey was not pulling in ethernet for my Lenovo Duet either: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089M7WSHM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've been using this one since Saturday with a Samsung USB 3.0 flash drive: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089M7WSHM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Setting up the external storage went really smoothly.

I’ve had good luck with Uni branded products, and use it for my card reader constantly.

For a general hub I like the Aukey one, but it doesn’t have a card reader so I have to bring two dongles. Hate Apple for this, I’d love to have an SD card reader and a usb-A port on my mbp.

I have had many issues with other sd card readers causing interference with other devices, but UNI has been solid, and isn’t very expensive.
