Play mat/gym? I had a secondhand one that I eventually (\~2 months) decided was too boring. I highly suggest either the Fisher Price piano kick mat or if you are into Montessori type toys to get a nice one from Etsy.

My baby loves the silly light up piano though. :)

Edit to add:

Subtle and easy to turn on night light. One that changes to a red color and will be less harsh on baby's eyes for night time feedings until you both get good enough to do it in the pitch black. I have this one.

Rocking chair or glider.

A quality swing. This will get you through any colicky times you have. We have Graco Duet Soothe. He is almost 4 months and still loves it (it has a 30lb weight limit).

First time posting here, so take my suggestions with a grain of salt.

  1. Wall color: are you set on having that red wall? If not, I suggest repainting the walls with a lighter color to open up the room, but not white (makes it look too sterile). Consider a light gray all around. Alternatively, replace the accent red wall and the wall on the side with the desk with a navy blue instead. You’ll want to keep the eyes off the tile floor.

  2. Cupboards/doors: I personally wouldn’t repaint them navy blue. Consider an off white color to make them pop out (especially if you consider the light gray wall paint). Your room had a lot of natural light with that window so that brightness will make it look like the room is bigger.

Personally, I would move the cupboard out if possible. It breaks the flow of the room and I would replace it with an armoire/dresser or something not as tall (maybe 4-5 feet in height). Make sure it matches the color of your new side tables. This will also allow you to add things to the top of your dresser. You could move it next to your desk as well.

  1. Bed: Get some more pillows. For some reason, women really like more pillows on the bed. Consider a few throw pillows that will complement the wall color (maybe a few that will be a lighter shade of your bedsheets and one that really pops out). Personally, get two king sized pillows as well.

Add a comforter with some sort of pattern, maybe with a charcoal/black/white color palette. It’ll add texture to the bed. Edit: you could consider a throw in lieu of a new comforter and place it at the foot of the bed, possibly with an accent color or pattern.

  1. Side tables. I like the color of the desk and it doesn’t have to move out. If you keep it in the room, a nice mahogany, espresso, or dark cherry color would fit nicely. Aim for a side table with drawers for both sides of the bed.

Something like this: Winsome Wood Eugene Accent Table, Walnut https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0046EC17G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3flgEbQQKZ0TC

Add a lamp to each side table. I personally like the touch lights. Here is what I have: AUKEY Table Lamp, Touch Sensor Bedside Lamps + Dimmable Warm White Light & Color Changing RGB for Bedrooms https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AJ7F14I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_fFlgEbTEED49C

Consider a small plant to be on one of the side tables. More on that below.

  1. Plants: Not sure of what your background is on plants, so I’ll lean towards lower maintenance ones. Your options open up more if you have adequate sunlight (specifically, is your window a south facing window?).

Spider plants, peace lilies, succulents, and lucky bamboo have been very hard plants for me to kill. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, venture into orchids but only if your room has adequate lighting.

Placement would be on one of the side tables, possibly a few on the desk and bookcase. If you get a dresser, then one on that too.

With a more subdued wall color, these plants will pop out in the room.

  1. Rugs: I personally am not a fan of the current rug pattern. It clashes with the tile and so my proposed solution is to cover up as much of it as possible. Consider a large shag rug that you can place from the wall with the window and fit under the bed. The idea is to clearly show where the “bedroom” begins and will give a feeling of coziness. It’ll also help dampen any echoing from the tiles.

Edit: I recommend a solid color (or at least a simpler pattern) rather than a pattern here since you have the inherent pattern from the tiles.

  1. Miscellaneous: I personally like a little more height on my table so consider a tiny hutch for your desk. It’ll help with storage as well and you can add other accoutrements.

Consider a reed diffuser or an ultrasonic essential oil diffuser. The reed diffuser is passive, so the scent spreads around with air movement from people walking by. The ultrasonic diffuser will add some minimal humidity to the room but the scent spreads faster. The designs are limitless and you’ll be able to find a reasonably priced one that fits the decor. Guests have always enjoyed a fresh scent to the room. Go for a more woodsy and warm scent like sandalwood or cedar wood. I currently have an orange ginger scent for the main rooms with more floral scents in the bathrooms.

Regarding the space above the bed... it definitely needs something there. I would suggest a black and white picture. If you dabble in photography, maybe a nice high resolution shot of one of your travels. Metal prints are nice, lightweight, don’t require nails (comes with strong adhesive), and you don’t worry about color fading. I would humbly suggest a nice cityscape in black and white. Using one of your own shots also allows you to tell guests a story of your travels. Makes a nice focal point.

These are all suggestions and I also don’t know what your budget is. This is what I would do if I had that space though. Best of luck!

Edit: not sure if your bed is raised or not, but you can consider a few low profile collapsible storage bins for keeping things under the bed if space is an issue. Your comforter is pretty large and will hide it well.

There's this laptop accessory that's a great alternative to buying a separate stand when you don't have much space to work with. It's holding up very well for my 13" 4-pound laptop, very sturdy and adds practically no weight to the laptop. Plus it is removable if you choose, just have to reinstall it with the adhesive: Majextand

That being said, a traditional laptop stand like the one another redditor suggested may help you create some extra vertical space to store things undernearth it.

If you want speakers but don't need the traditional kind, a good idea would be to pick up a Google Home Mini or Amazon Echo Dot or even an Apple HomePod if you can afford it since you own mostly Apple products. Small footprint and wireless, pretty ideal for your surface space.

For a lamp, there are some small vertical ones that can save you space and keep things minimal. Have not used these myself but I've seen them used by many people (Touch Table Lamp) (TaoTronics LED lamp)

I get the idea of people getting plants, it's definitely a nice touch and brightens things up. But honestly you can get any accessory - wireless charger for your phone, a diffuser for essential oils, vintage or new toys to display, maybe even stuff as simple as a Rubiks Cube or other non-digital accessories. Dive into Etsy or Amazon and I'm sure you'll find something fun.

You're in a good spot since you have a mostly wireless arrangement, so you can really rearrange things as you see fit. Good luck!
