I only have a 1660Ti MaxQ on mine, but I use this monitor and it's really good imo: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VG279Q-Monitor-FreeSync-Adaptive/dp/B07KXHTRT5
Great color accuracy, IPS panel, FreeSync support, 1080p and 144 Hz, and HDMI/DisplayPort inputs. After 2 years of use, it still holds up pretty well :)

Good suggestion but here's what I found just from a quick google search.
https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VG279Q-Monitor-FreeSync-Adaptive/dp/B07KXHTRT5
Purely just an example but it seems possible that it can be done. Also not judging off of that price as it is someone selling it used.

Ok that's what I thought I got confused haha. The vg has Freesync also and I think it's g sync "compatible"

From what I gather when this question is asked, the VG248QE is pretty much outdated tech when it comes to 144hz monitors. There 144hz monitors at that price point with much better features like Adaptive Sync, better color accuracy, panels etc.
Go with the newer ASUS VG279Q

God damn it there are no good monitors on the market at a reasonable price. I bought my monitor 5 years ago, maybe more. It is 144hz, 1080p, freesync. I got it for $300. I look for anything better, and it is $700+ Why? Shouldn't prices over 5 years go down.
Just found the updated version of my monitor. 5 years later is it still $300. Sad. I looked in my software and confirmed they are the same name model just one is 2020 and mine is 2015. https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VG279Q-Monitor-FreeSync-Adaptive/dp/B07KXHTRT5/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=asus+monitor+1080p+144hz&qid=1608659353&s=electronics&sr=1-4

Great choice mate! Asus makes great monitors, I use this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KXHTRT5/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Vg279q&qid=1591620029&sr=8-1
Expect that in my country it costs about $320 but I guess $30 difference is not that big of a deal.
Edit: sorry for the shitty mobile formating, I also don't know how to embed links like you did.

What about this one, its similar to the one I posted, and I found it through the search filters you recommend. It also has 144 hertz instead of 75

Might be 144 native and 165 over drive
Edit:nvm checked official asus website and it advertises 144hz
What I do think is weird how a 24 inch display with the same resolution costs more than the 27 inch display

I recommend this Ive been using this for a long time now and i highly recommend the monitor. and remember once you get the monitor is to set it as 144hz, I didn't when I had it and ive never felt so dumb i had it for a month too.

Duh. Forgot to add the link. Sorry. I got mine via Newegg. Very happy with it. First monitor I'v had over 60Hz and games are much nicer, easier, and strain my eyes less. I paid $230 shipped in the US about 6 months ago.

If youre referring to the speakers, then they're just some basic infinity floor speakers, hoping to upgrade them sometime this year, but idk what to yet.
If youre asking about the screens

Hello!
I built a custom PC earlier this year. Everything works beautifully. I just bought a new monitor to upgrade the one I had bought on Craigslist. The monitor I bought is the ASUS VG279Q 27" and my build is here.
So for gaming, I play World of Warcraft and Valorant. I plugged my monitor in, set the refresh rate to 120hz, and then then watched some YouTube videos. Everything worked fine. When I opened WoW, massive screen tearing, lag, and my screen went completely black sporadically if I entered a fairly busy city or event. I turned everything down to low, set the refresh to 60hz, and now WoW and Valorant seem to work fine.
My question is my PC build limiting my ability to game on this monitor or is there something I am missing? Thanks for any and all help with this!
Cheers

Thanks for pushing me to look around online and make a decision. If I wanted to go with 1440 it looks like it would be an extra $200 for the 2080 super and atleast an extra $200-300 for a monitor (price difference between a new 1080 monitor vs, 1440 monitor). I just don't think I can justify spending the extra $400-500. I think I'm going to stick with the 2070 super and get https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KXHTRT5/ that monitor and just play pubg in 1080 resolution. You don't see anything grossly wrong/incorrect with that right?

I've found 2 monitors I'm interested in. All I'm really looking for is a decent 1080p 144hz monitor to use as my primary one for games and stuff and then using my Acer GN246HL as just my side display for discord/youtube/etc
the two I found are:
the AOC monitor is not only cheaper but also has a larger screen. Am I better off with the AOC? is the ASUS one better in any way? is there a different monitor anyone knows of that eclipses both of them? Budget is around $300 - $350 if anyone has any different suggestions.

It looks good but it uses a TN panel I believe, which does not have good picture quality when compared to IPS and VA.
If you want to stay at 1080p and go for high FPS I recommend something like https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KXHTRT5

I’m starting my first build, and I am hung up on choosing a monitor. I know I want 144hz, 1ms response time, and all of that because I am mainly a fighting game/ competitive gaming player. I know they always use BenQ in tournaments, but is a cheaper BenQ worth it? The only drawback is the washed out colors from the TN panel, but is the extras for the BenQ worth the drop in color? Thanks in advance for any help.

I would go to a 1080p 240Hz monitor if you are a very competitive gamer. If you want a nice resolution upgrade as well as a refresh rate increase, you can't go wrong with a 1440p 144hz monitor.
As for suggestions:
1080p 240hz: https://www.amazon.com/Pixio-Hayabusa-FreeSync-Height-Adjustable-Compatible/dp/B07QDPLL51
Be wary the 240Hz monitor I linked doesn't have amazing response times to really be a true 240Hz monitor, but it's within your budget, will give you a decent refresh rate bump over 144hz and is alright for gaming. I wouldn't do any color accurate work on it, but it will do just fine for the most part if you're playing some games.
1080p IPS 144Hz: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VG279Q-Monitor-FreeSync-Adaptive/dp/B07KXHTRT5
This 144hz 1080p monitor really is great. Not amazing response times, but adequate for some casual gaming and it's IPS rather than TN or VA, so for some professional level stuff it actually fair quite well. It's $10 over your $300 USD budget, but keep in mind there are some benefits. It also does a true 144Hz refresh rate with it's response times when configured correctly. A perfectly good monitor.
1440p 144hz TN: https://www.amazon.com/GFT27DB-27-Inch-Monitor-Speakers-FreeSync/dp/B07NBM6KYH
This 1440p 144hz TN panel monitor is a gaming beauty. Not the greatest thing at all, but at $250 USD what can really go wrong. You get TN response times for a true 144hz refresh rate, decent colours for TN (92% DCI P3 coverage) and 1440p resolution. A treat for competitive gamers. Not an adequate monitor for people who also do professional work, but for gamers, it's good.
Up to you really, but if I only cared about gaming 240Hz at 1080p would be king. But if you want both, then go with the TN 1440p 144hz monitor. It's an upgrade all round from your 60Hz monitor.

I wouldn't worry about DP vs HDMI too much, any modern monitor will support DP, as will modern GPUs.
There are many good monitors for under $300. I actually just made a list for a buddy of mine that I'll copy+paste. Keep in mind, these are purely my opinions, which you should supplement with other opinions/reviews/tests as well.
This is the best but at your budget https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KXHTRT5?tag=rtings-mn-r-20&ie=UTF8
This one is a little cheaper, also very good https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R7636MH?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
Under $200, this is probably best https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VFPYRP3?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1
as an alternative, this one is probably the best for pure gaming https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SXCS74Z?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

Amazon uk has the 3700x for 1243 riyals. Microless has it for 1564 riyals. 320 riyals more expensive.
This GPU is 3500 riyals on Amazon. On Microless it is 3941. Saving of almost 500 riyals.
The Asus Tuf VG279Q is 1361 riyal on Amazon. It is 1716 on Microless. Saving of 350 riyal.
The 2080ti is 6125 riyals on Microless. It is 5700 riyals on Amazon. Saving of 425 riyals.
Motherboards are also terribly priced. Most X570 motherboard's are out of stock so not possible to make any comparison.
Now these savings might not seem much but this is the items with individual shipping. When added in a cart in one order the shipping is reduced substantially and the total cost of a build will come down even further.
