How does this monitor's colors compare to the Asus Proart PA278QV? Since it has a higher refresh rate(144 vs 75 hz) and 10-bit color(as opposed to 8-bit) is it superior to it in every way?

How is this for a main monitor?

Ight. I would suggest looking for 1440p monitors that cover 99 percent srgb space and at least 70 percent of adobe rgb space. And even so, I would look into monitors with deep blacks and good contrast over a high refresh rate. I just think having a really good black to white level hells get the most serial out of images. The color space will look pretty close to wherever you post since srgb color space is covered at least.

Also when you color grade footage I tend to always use a rec 709 color space. So then you can find what monitors work will with rec 709. This link is a decent budget one for 300.

I can find other ones with more features and a higher budget but I'd need to sit in front of the desktop. I know some decent ones around 500-800 also. I've gone through a bunch of brands and Asus and fell have been my favorite. LG is close also.

From the research I've done, the best low cost monitor for accurate colour is the newly released ASUS ProArt PA278QV for $299 US: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-PA278QV-DisplayPort-Anti-Glare-Adjustable/dp/B088BC5HMM

144hz is enougth and 1440p is significantly better looking than 1080p also its cheaper unless your doing paid lan tornements 244 hz isn't needed as ping will be a much bigger factor than your screen

Thanks! I’m in the Midwest—Ohio. This is the monitor I am leaning toward:

ASUS ProArt Display PA278QV 27” WQHD (2560 x 1440) Monitor, 100% sRGB/Rec. 709 ΔE < 2, IPS, DisplayPort HDMI DVI-D Mini DP, Calman Verified, Eye Care, Anti-Glare, Tilt Pivot Swivel Height Adjustable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088BC5HMM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_TsV3FbTMPAK8Y

...Although I love the split screen feature that LG monitors offer... not sure if the ASUS offers the same, but I do love the adjustable height on the ASUS stand. And it’s 1440p, IPS.

I'm looking for a second VESA-mountable monitor primarily for reading PDFs and browsing (other 144Hz monitor already purchased for gaming and media).

I am looking for 60Hz monitors to stay within budget, and I think I've narrowed it down to the ViewSonic VA2719 and the ASUS ProArt Display PA278QV.

Appreciate any opinion on these two, or another option I may have missed!

Budget: <$350

Prospective Resolution: 2560x1440

Size: 27 inches

Aspect Ratio (16:9, etc.): N/A

Adaptive Sync (GSync, FreeSync, or None): N/A

Other Features (list other relevant features here): VESA-mountable

Thanks. I think I narrowed down to these two ASUS IPS monitors:

https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VA27DQSB-Adaptive-Sync-DisplayPort-Frameless/dp/B08C63NR1V (5ms; DP; cables for USB, DP, & HDMI; supports both NVIDIA & AMD; adjustable height; rotateable; 3,549 ratings; 8/8/2020) = $179

https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-PA278QV-DisplayPort-Anti-Glare-Adjustable/dp/B088BC5HMM/ (989 ratings; 5/15/2020) (WQHD 2560x1440, 5ms, IPS, HDMI, DVI, DP, adjustable, & rotateable) = $293 -- Why does it cost more? Because of DVI, higher screen resolution? No support for both NVIDIA & AMD?

(1) BenQ PD2700U ($539): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H9XP92N/ref=crt_ewc_title_dp_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

This is a 4k, 27inch, 10-bit Display. 100%sRGB & Rec.709, and I believe is the newest of the bunch. It has HDR Support and comes pre-calibrated at a Delta E ≤ 3.

(2) BenQ SW2700PT ($599):https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-Photographer-SW271-3840x2160-Calibration/dp/B012UNOCJY?th=1

This is a 1440p, 27inch, 10 bit display that is more photography focused as it has a 99% Adobe RGB / 93% DCI-P3 color space. Some cool other features are it's 14 bit 3D LUT look up table and color calibration software. It comes pre-calibrated at a Delta E ≤ 2.

(3) BenQ PD2700Q ($299):https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-2560x1440-PD2700Q-Animation-Flicker-Free/dp/B01K1INYWG/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=benq%2B2700q&qid=1597388180&s=electronics&sr=1-1&th=1

This is another 1440p, 27inch, 10 bit display that is far cheaper that the one above! It is also 10bit, but doesn not have features such as HDR 10 or the 3D LUT Look up table. However, it has 100% sRGB & Rec.709. Not sure what the Delta E is, but it comes with a calibration report.

(4) ASUS ProArt PA278 ($286):https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088BC5HMM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

A 1440p, 27inch, 8 Bit Display. It doesn't come with any extra feature like the BenQ above, but is delivered with a Delta E ≤ 2.

you should really check this out if you're still looking, and it fits right into your budget < 300. Best option I can find.

Asus PA278QV, it got great out the box accuracy, which is what you need for console, IPS 1440p 75hz (nice step up from 60hz)

I appreciate all the insight, seriously. I posted in this sub because my girlfriend uses Photoshop but I mainly do videos for YouTube. I’ve noticed for awhile that when uploading to YouTube the colors end up noticeablely different than how I edited them in Premiere Pro or Davinci. I’m not looking to get anything super expensive as of right now considering both of us are aspiring artists, me with music and her with graphic design, so we’d both just like something that is more accurate than what I’m currently using.

are any of these worth considering for their price?

for $299 you can start getting decent stuff with ips screens at 27 inches and 2k, wouldn't bother with any other display types if you're working around it. You're not saving much with something else, with these you can just sit like wherever and the screen will look the same from all angles. Have decent usable stands too.

I reckon you're not in the market for high refresh rate screens, so I won't bother, they're a 50 - $100 premium and all of them have functional yet awful V leg stands.

https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-PA278QV-DisplayPort-Anti-Glare-Adjustable/dp/B088BC5HMM/

https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-2560x1440-PD2700Q-Animation-Flicker-Free/dp/B01K1INYWG

at 32 inches and $250 you can get something like this, works too but its very big and those U and V shape stands are ass.

https://www.amazon.com/LG-32QK500-C-32-Inch-FreeSync-Diagonal/dp/B07YGZRQ98/

Also maybe just look into PC form factors more again, I got a gigantic workstation, and it wasn't really necessary now that I think about it. In fact I wish it were easier to transport sometimes. In fact I've been looking into something smaller for end of next year, that will still fit my rm750x psu, which should be possible with m-atx cases.

You don't need to go ITX, but have a look at m-atx motherboards and cases, should be fine with your processor. Cheaper too, should offset the fact that there aren't really 27 inch options at flat $200.

I'm in search for a monitor for photo/video editing.

After looking through some reviews and older posts, I've gathered 5 monitors. However, I'd like some opinions among them before making the decision. What would be your top 2 choices out of the 5?

- ASUS ProArt Display PA278ofQV 27”

- Dell Ultra Sharp 25" Black (U2518D)

- LG 27UK650-W 27 Inch

- LG 32UL500-W 32 Inch

- Dell UltraSharp U2720Q 27 Inch

If not these, then any others I should consider? Ideally, my budget is $200-400.

> I have two potential new purchase decisions I want to make but I can only really afford one now and one a few months from now. One is more luxury than the other and I'm not sure which way to swing and if I should wait on either. > > First: I have a 2.5" SSD that is aging, it is only 256 GB in size, and it's got about 23 GB left in space. It houses my operating system and various applications, and I've been thinking about upgrading this for quite a while now. I rebuilt my machine end of last year and got a motherboard that was compatible with pci-e gen4 M.2 Nvme SSDs, and I was eventually going to go that route, but I've heard about a lot of heating issues with them. So I was thinking about just a regular M.2 Nvme ssd, 1 TB, to replace it. Something like this would be good, the price is decent. I'm also debating cloning windows and the old SSD versus trying to get the windows 10 download and doing a fresh install, searching for my win7 key to activate it. > > Second: I've been spending a lot of my time these days doing gaming on one side of my monitor and watching youtube on another, especially if I'm playing wow or even just doing like solitaire (yes I play solitaire on a rig with a 2070 super). Or I often edit my photography with something in the side for entertainment. I don't have a second monitor and I was thinking of getting a vertical monitor stand and a second monitor for my setup. Debating what kind of monitor to get and what the focus of it should be. Right now I have an ACER K272HUL (27" 1440p 60Hz IPS) that replaced an aging dell fat LCD from the early-mid 2000s. It's a good general purpose monitor mostly for media consumption, and it's fairly accurate to work on photography with but not really catered to either photography or gaming. I was considering this. > It's a good art-type monitor, 100% SRGB, factory calibrated. The price is way higher than I've seen it before. I've seen it under $300 and I knew I should have bought it then, but didn't. > > Gaming wise, I wanted to do something like this > > I spend a lot of my evenings gaming or doing photography and video editing. I spend all day watching videos while working, but I have my work monitor going for work and my personal PC monitor for the video watching. > > What do you guys think?
