If you’re still looking wait like two months. This is an incredible deal with the best specs at that price point with a 1tb SSD.

I'd reccomend this: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Display-i7-10750H-Keyboard-G512LW-ES76/dp/B0863Y4QGV/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=gaming+laptop&qid=1601770559&sr=8-8

You can get the higher res, or 240 fps in easier games. Feel free to dm me some more specific things you want it for

G15 also comes with RTX 2070. But it will come out at end of July. So far there are no reviews out for G15 (amazon link). I dont know much about thermals.

But on the flipside, I did not see reviews for GP65. I felt I could get it due to the fact that lots of people were posting about getting either GL65 or GP65/75 lately.

If you’re looking to spend that much for similar performance, check out the ASUS ROG G15, it has the same i7-10750H, a non-MaxQ 2070, 1TB SSD and a 240Hz display. I’ve got one and it’s been pretty nice so far and it’s only $1449. Here it is on Amazon.

comparing lenovo legion 5i 81Y60041US to this which one would you guys choose? i guess the major difference between lenovo and the rog that i hyperlinked is the rtx 2060 vs rtx 2070

Actually, i found this one: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-GeForce-i7-10750H-Windows-G512LW-ES76/dp/B0863Y4QGV which looks amazing, my only concern is how the cooling system is for this one as it's a very new model and no one did any reviews for it.

Would like your opinion on the asus rog g15 (the specific model in the link)

Is it worth it? And are there any similar/better laptop at that price range for gaming and Miscellaneous video editing. I want all my games to run smooth without having to worry about FPS.

I'd like to see more benching from AMD laptops. Also less cheap out builds. Seeing the G15 and others with soldered ram is a let down. The Intel Asus 240hz 2070 seems like a solid option at 1499, but no freesync spec.

I really like the GE66, the battery is a huge win for me. Main performance thing will be the GPU, If you are doing VR or want to push the games you are playing I think the upgrade to the 2070 is worth it. That said 2060 is solid and will be effective for most people. All the extra bells and whistles in my mind are ascetic and make for a nicer experience, so its your call on if thoses things are worth an extra 200 for you.

Also note, Strix with 2070 but youll need to wait. https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-GeForce-i7-10750H-Windows-G512LW-ES76/dp/B0863Y4QGV?th=1

I just found this https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-GeForce-i7-10875H-Windows-G732LWS-DS76/dp/B0865QQBFL/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=asus%2Bstrix&qid=1589955986&s=electronics&sr=1-2&th=1

which is a bit more than I want to spend and isn't out for almost a month but that should be fine, how does it compare to the one I linked in the original post?

The 15 inch one is closer to my budget but isn't out for over 2 months? https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-GeForce-i7-10750H-Windows-G512LW-ES76/dp/B0863Y4QGV/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=asus+strix&qid=1589955986&s=electronics&sr=1-1

If you are willing to go up to $2000, you have a ton of great options. You can easily get a laptop with the newest generation of processors and an rtx2070, which will pretty much run any game at full settings right now.

Brand-wise, I would suggest an MSI GP65 (if you prefer a 17 inch, search for the GP75) or MSI GS66 (if you want something thin and light, although this has a downgraded GPU)

The Acer Predator line up also has some great options and are usually very highly regarded, but they generally cost more for what you are getting.

If you don't need a webcam and number pad, the ASUS ROGs are also a good choice.

Hopefully that helps.

What type of framerate do you want? 60? 80? 120?

If all yuo need is 60fps, high settings, take a look at the blade 15 base model.

https://www.razer.com/gaming-laptops/Razer-Blade-15/RZ09-03289E21-R3U1

If you want 120fps, you have to look for an rtx 2060 or 2070. Look at the ROG strix scar g15
it has a rtx 2070, and you can choose between rtx 2070, 240hz, 1tb ssd, for 1500usd, or for $200 cheaper, you can get, 144hz, rtx 2060 and 512gb ssd. Keep in mind that it takes around 200 dollars extra for shipping, and import fees.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0863Y4QGV/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2KYIV02F0JSJ6&psc=1
That's basically it.
There is one more selection though. You could get an eGPU, and hook it up to a cheap laptop. Its not like ur gonna game at school anyway.
This is the rtx 3070, which is probs the best bang for buck when you have a low budget. (Its basically an rtx 2080 or rtx 2080 ti).
https://www.ebay.com/itm/In-Stock-Gigabyte-GeForce-RTX-3070-EAGLE-OC-8GB-GDDR6-Graphic-Card/143831717647?hash=item217d09d70f:g:lm4AAOSwA9xfqYou caOpr
https://www.amazon.com/HP-i7-1065G7-Processor-Accidental-Protection/dp/B088DJWJNM/ref=sr_1_2?

And this is the laptop that is probably enough for school. the only thing is that it might not have thunderbolt 3 or 4, so you might not be able to connect it. you can probably find a laptop that has it, under 700.

and lastly, the egpu itself

I just realised I took 1h to write this lol
