Info from Amazon Listing
  • COOLER THAN OTHER AIO WATER COOLERS: The ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II has a more efficient cool plate, pump and radiator that makes a difference among other AIO water pc fan coolers
  • 15°C LOWER VOLTAGE REGULATOR TEMPERATURE: An additional 40 mm VRM fan (PWM controlled) next to pump can provide extra cooling for the base and voltage transformer
  • INTEGRATED CABLE MANAGEMENT: The PWM-cable of the fans are integrated into the sleeved tubing. Thus there is only one short cable visible from the pump to motherboard replacing the usual cable mess
  • 80% LESS POWER CONSUMPTION: Unlike most pumps from our competitors, which run at full load even when idle, our pump clocks down consuming less power and producing less noise If no cooling is needed
  • MAINTENANCE-FREE WATER LOOP: The water loop is sealed and with high quality fiber-reinforce EPDM tubing you do not have to worry about refilling

I would get the Liquid Freezer II Link especially since it's newer, and you can actually control the pump speed unlike the Cryorig which is sata.

The $90 ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240 is the best performing AIO according to the in-depth testing done by Gamers Nexus.

You can't plug the 3 pin into the 4 pin header, but the AIO should still work if you plug in the PWM cable, the lights just won't work. This AIO is one of the best performing and one of the best priced AIO's according to @ Gamers Nexus on YT and doesn't have any RGB.

Any decent cooler will handle the CPU. The problem is keeping it cool, for longer under load. That is where water cooling excels. You might not go cooler than an air cooler, but it'll be cooler for longer.

I would go AIO. If you can't go 360, then go 240/280. It's not that much more, and if you're going to be taxing an expensive CPU, it's worth it. I'd suggest looking into the Arctic Freezer II, as it excels in performance and price.

here ya go this is a really good clean choice. If your case supports 2 140mm fans, get the 280mm but if not, 240mm is fine.

-Get 3200cl16 ram instead of 3000 c16

-Not sure about the PCIe gen 4 SSD, remember they can get hot and even more so in an itx build.

-I feel like instead of spending so much on noctua fans and that small cooler you should consider water cooling since you want to upgrade to 8 cores in the future, something like this https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Liquid-Freezer-All-One/dp/B07WSDLRVP but is my opinion.

You could save some money if you get the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer II 240.

You can then upgrade to the 10700K for more future-proofing (If you can find it in stock).

Even though you don't have a desire to overclock now, you can inch out performance a few years down the line if you decide to. I highly suggest it, especially because you're looking to use it for workstation use.

I would suggest Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240mm or 280mm. If you have the room, they are the best CPU AIOs on the scene with (if you like it) minimal RGB. Price to performance value is bar-none.

Arctic AIO H500/510 clearance

I've been thinking about upgrading to an AIO for my CPU. I have an H510 case and was wondering if this AIO is compatible: https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Liquid-Freezer-All-One/dp/B07WSDLRVP/ref=sr_1_2?crid=372OIJGT2GR9X&dchild=1&keywords=arctic+aio+cooler&qid=1587257145&sprefix=arctic+aio%2Caps%2C146&sr=8-2

The radiator on the Arctic AIOs are thicker than most other brands, and with the cable management bar in my case, I wanted to make sure it would even fit before I even considered buying it.

I don't own this, but if I was doing another build this is what I'd get. I have Arctic F12 and P12 fans, and the 5-pack of P12 is unparalleled in performance per dollar.

My 10600k is at 5GHz -2AVX under a 240mm AIO with two premium powerful and "quiet" fans replacing the stock ones. Mostly the temps will depend on your silicon lottery luck, not cooler, many 240mm AIOs will perform close enough to each other, especially if you use the same fans on them (most radiators are the "same" 27mm aluminium rads in all of them, the pumps might differ a bit along with heat transfer capabilities, but still will be close enough). But I did test my 10600k setup with Prime95 smallFFTs with AVX on - this test is dumb and mega unrealistically hot (I've had enough situations to see that it's dumb and even counterproductive, as CPUs would pass it with no issues, but fail in actual AVX loads, but it would be too long). So, still, the results are:

  1. Prime95 small FFTs avx on - CPU is going up to 89c, which is superb
  2. In Titanfall2, the CPU goes probably to 63-65c.

But... if I'd be suggesting an AIO, then I'd probably focus on the ugly and efficient Arctic 240mm that has a VRM fan and a 38mm radiator and is now $90 on amazon smile (not sure, but I think you might need Prime membership to use the $99.99-10% coupon to get that $90 price):

Air coolers can compete with AIO's, but they exhaust the heat into the case, affecting the GPU. Recommending air coolers to people is fine if they're not looking to overclock anything, and are on a tight budget.

I wouldn't recommend one to someone looking to overclock. Especially when one of the best AIOs for performance is just 80 bucks.

No worries. What are you trying to do with it?

If you're just trying to run it at stock settings with Intel spec power limits then pretty much any $20-$40 air cooler would work. But they likely won't be that aesthetically pleasing and it'll run a little warm.

if you're looking to overclock your cpu and unlock the power limit then you'll probably need a higher end air cooler like an NH-D15 / Dark Rock Pro 4 or an AIO like the Arctic Liquid Freezer 240 which is the current bang for the buck aio I would argue. It just doesn't look as good as the NZXT / Corsair ones though.

I personally use a Kraken X53 on my 10700k (OC'd and unlocked power limit) and it does extremely well. But I built my system when the Arctic AIOs were out of stock.

My personal favorite overall bang for the buck cooler though is the Scythe Fuma 2 for $60. It won't cool as well as the $100 air coolers at higher OC / power draw since it simply doesn't have the physical mass. But it gets pretty close, the stock fans are silent, and has really good compatibility with ram and cases.

Hope this helps!

I would go with a 10th series i5, a good mobo but not an overkill one. MO/BO. With this you should be fine. For the gpu, if you do not play that much, I would go with a gtx 1650 maybe, or if you have a low budget, even with a rx 5500/5600 xt . I think 16 gb of ram are good enough to do whatever you have to do. For the PSU, if you are going to change it, just take a good one, like a seasonic or something else you want (80 plus gold and 650 W, it should last you for a long time). For the CPU cooler, if you like a watercooler just grab one, otherwise go for an air cooler. I have this and it's doing a really good job. The temps are not even going upper than 60 degrees. And I think that's it. I hope you found what you wanted here.

P.S.: You have to reinstall windows 10 for the drivers, otherwise I think it gets buggy.

Wow. Ok. Thats weird. You shouldn't have to drop the actual resolution at all, especially with that beast of a video card.

I'm playing ultrawide 3440x1440, so a bit over 1440p and I'm getting 65-80FPS on a RX480 and a r5 3600. I did need to turn some settings down though.

I don't need answers to these, but the answers may help you fix this.

What is your ram? Ideally you want 3200 or faster. Check to make sure the XMP profile is active.

Are you running a bunch of stuff in the background? Only asking because sometimes I fold while playing because the game isn't that heavy.

Do you have a bunch of the Motherboard manufacturer's crap, or LED control software like CAM installed? Manufacturers crap = Gigabyte Appcenter thing, Automatic driver updater thing, etc... Any of the things they have under APPS in their download section is usually crap.

Is your computer using the Ryzen Balanced or High performance power profile? If not it should be.

Did you get the chipset drivers from AMDs website? Board Manufacturer tends to have old crap.

Is the BIOS running PCIe 3.0x16 on your video card slot?

Are you using a display with Adaptive Sync/G-sync/Freesync and have that turned on in the driver?

Have you used the Nvidia control panel and set a bunch of things to override or Enhance the game settings?

Are you on the most Ideal AGESA version for your CPU?

Is Your CPU or GPU overheating? What case do you have? Does it have good airflow? Something could be throttling. HWINFO64 can answer those questions for you. If you're using the CPU cooler that came with the CPU then it is probably overheating, if you have anything other than excellent airflow in the case.

If you need a cpu cooler, this thing performs extremely well on Ryzen, the price is also ridiculously good right now. Actually at $89 I may buy one myself. https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Liquid-Freezer-All-One/dp/B07WSDLRVP?th=1

If all of that is good try switching these one at a time to see if any of them help:

  • Depth of Field down to High or Medium, or off... Hell, I cant see what it does other than lower frame rate.
  • Screen space Ambient Occlusion down from 3D to HDAO (switching down to High makes a huge difference on frame rate)
  • Anti Aliasing down from SMAA to FXAA
  • Foliage Shadows and Foliage Detail down a notch from wherever it is.
  • Shadow Quality down a notch from wherever it is.
  • Environment detail down a notch from wherever it is.

I also have some questions. Mainly because I can only see running over 144FPS on a 144hz Monitor causing tearing and I hate tearing.

Are you just trying to get it to stay pegged at 144 FPS?

Is there something in the game that does more damage with higher FPS? I know 30FPS used to net higher damage on some weapons.

It depends what case you have, so you should see if your case supports a 240mm rad. But ARCTIC AIO's are very good for the price tag: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WSDLRVP?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

For aftermarket coolers air coolers have come back in a big way and if you're ok with the aesthetics something like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L7UZMAK/ is a great option.

If you'd prefer the aesthetics of a CLC the hot option right now is the Arctic Liquid Freezer: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WSDLRVP

For RAM as long as it's a reputable brand and 3600C16 it's hard to go wrong. Something like https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16820232880

The BX500 drives are $200 a piece, the faster MX500's are $214. IMo, the higher mixed IO and random read performance is worth that small difference.

Pay a little more for a 3600MHz CL16 RAM kit. The extra frequency on the RAM also raises the FCLK and UCLK, so your CPU runs a little faster just by enabling XMP.

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/zcH8TW/gskill-ripjaws-v-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-f4-3600c16d-32gvkc

The Dark Rock Pro 4 is good, but $96 is too much IMO. You can grab a high quality 240mm AIO with a thick radiator for $85.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B07WSDLRVP

https://www.kitguru.net/components/cooling/james-dawson/arctic-liquid-freezer-ii-all-in-one-cpu-cooler-review/5/

As you can see, it is able to beat the Noctua NH-D15 by several degrees, while remaining quiet. The Dark Rock Pro 4 is slightly quieter but was 12C worse with the 9900K at 4.9GHz.

A single-tower cooler with four heat pipes like a Gammaxx 400 V2 ($19) has much better performance than either an i71C or any of Intel's stock coolers. The i71C is really only good if you want RGB and don't have much clearance.

If you're okay spending a bit more, the Neptwin V2 ($43) and the Fuma 2 ($60) are both popular dual-tower coolers with six heat pipes. Above those, you'd be looking at something like an NH-D15 ($90) or one of Arctic's Liquid Freezer AIOs ($100 for the 240mm version).
