I got the Arctic esports duo. It’s been great. Much cooler and much quieter. Amazon link

Yeah amd!! Honestly it's up to you if you want to use the extra ssd. Doesn't look like you need it. If you want your build to be quiet while gaming, you should get a better cooler. one of these work fine and are pretty budget friendly!

it should be about 40-50 usd.

if an item is out of stock, the shops tend to set off prices in order to stop orders.

this is about the normal us price for reference

> there shouldn't be too big of a performance difference between the 3600x or 3600xt vs the 3600.

There really isn't much a difference at all. In 90% of cases they would all clock the same at the high-end anyway, so just buy whatever is cheapest between the 3 when you're ready to purchase.

> If anything should I stick with the stock cooler or add on something much cheaper?

Stock cooler is kinda mediocre. Just from a performance standpoint I would recommend something like this, but there will be dozens of comparable air coolers around that price point if you want to shop around for something thats full RGB or just slightly different colouring to match your case if you wish.

> PNY was the only thing I could find that seemed to be in stock? Can't entirely confirm, but 3000 series are hard to come by unfortunately.

3000 series are VERY hard to find right now, but there's a reason you can only get PNY, and that's because its one the least desirable brands out there. I wouldn't compromise on such an expensive part, and if need be would rather buy a cheap 2nd hand card to hold you over for a few weeks before a better model 3070 becomes available.

I had my eye on an Arctic Freezer 34 Duo, but this looks to be a hell of a competitor and at a better price. Anyone mind giving me some insight?

I can definitely recommend the artic e sports duo 34. It's not super popular but it's reasonably priced and performs the same as our better than the high end noctua and scythe coolers. It always gets good reviews too made by a company probably better known for their thermal paste.

https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Freezer-eSports-DUO-Configuration/dp/B07MJGNJB3/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=arctic+esports+duo+34&qid=1579713954&sr=8-1

Setting up your fans is easy. Just moving dots on a graph. If it's a PWM (4 pin) fan you can set by percentage so at 40°C 30% then maybe 40% for 55C etc. If it's a DC fan (3 pin) the board won't be able to read the rpm so you can only adjust it by voltage. Obviously the higher the voltage the faster the fan. You can also set things like what temp the fan is monitoring like maybe you want your front intakes to pay more attention to your GPU so you can set it off of your pcie temps. Most people just leave it on CPU temps though. It's easy, you'll figure it out once you look at it.

This one is allot better for the price. I wouldnt go for a AOI just yet until you want to do some heavy overclocking, then a good 150-200 dollar AOI comes into play.

Looks like 175mm. If you want future proof then a noctua u12s would be the best for around your budget if you can swing another 10$. If not then the freezer 34 duo is supposed to be decent for the money. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MJGNJB3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_RY0QEbG1CV9W9

That's what I had. Honestly, it'll be fine below 100°, but if you want to have lower temps you'll have to get an upgraded cooler. Below is what I have, but wow, corona has caused a huge increase in price. I paid $40 maybe 6 months ago, currently $57.

Noctua is top notch that's not the problem, it's more the model/size of it that is the problem. You'll obviously never be able to push as much air with that than a model like this https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Freezer-eSports-DUO-Configuration/dp/B07MJGNJB3/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=esports+duo&qid=1588573066&sr=8-1 .

Since your budget is that low, i would probably go for something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Freezer-eSports-DUO-Configuration/dp/B07MJGNJB3/ref=sr_1_1?crid=IAMFZK5R228P&keywords=arctic+freezer+34+esports+duo&qid=1578582100&sprefix=arctic+freeze%2Caps%2C193&sr=8-1

It does the job very well for the price point and i imagine you wouldn't want to be spending too much on a cooler in the first place.

No worries. I was looking at the eSports as well like you requested. I just noticed the 33 series was more expensive, and saw the 34 series cost a bit less. Helping since you said trying to keep it at a budget. My link below. Unnecessary now, but at least you know we were on the same road.

Also:

Scythe Mugen or an Arctic eSports Duo if you want dollar-to-performance cooling.

If you’re looking for a cooler I recommend the Arctic freezer 34 esports duo: https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Freezer-eSports-DUO-Configuration/dp/B07MJGNJB3

It works almost as well as the big noctua coolers for only half the price (and comes with decent thermal paste)

If you wanted rgb you could add the Phanteks halo frame for only an extra $10: https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-PH-FF120RGBP_BK01-Halos-density-mounting/dp/B074Q65CRV/ref=pd_aw_fbt_img_3/144-4575938-1843111?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B074Q65CRV&pd_rd_r=000b5a0e-10f7-4fa8-9a85-ffbfc2525af6&pd_rd_w=0KQBg&pd_rd_wg=b7BkF&pf_rd_p=e5143995-bc4c-4e22-9b66-79eb4d8ad240&pf_rd_r=H3TA1NNTRFZRBTTEDESD&psc=1&refRID=H3TA1NNTRFZRBTTEDESD

Gotcha. There are plenty of great air coolers on the market. My recommendation would be something from Noctua or Arctic. An AIO liquid cooler from Corsair or NZXT would also be great if you are willing to spend a little more. Water coolers don't really outperform similarly priced air coolers, but they can be quieter and have the benefit of looks.

Edit: Also, Ryzen Master is great for testing different settings or using it to increment clocks to see what's stable, but I would default to setting voltages and clocks in the BIOS. HWInfo is an excellent tool, was just checking because some monitoring tools can misrepresent voltages. Weird that you didn't see more of a reduction with undervolting. You may want to try setting a PPT limit for now to get your chip running a little cooler. You'll lose a bit of performance, but it's probably better till you get better cooling.

AM4 is the name of the current socket used by AMD CPUs from 2017 to 2020.

Anyway, if you want a great cooler(a notch above the Hyper 212/Gammaxx 400), this one would do the job very well:

https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Freezer-eSports-DUO-Configuration/dp/B07MJGNJB3/

If you want to go even higher end(and properly future proof, as high end CPU air coolers are):

https://www.amazon.com/Scythe-Ninja-CPU-Cooler-SCNJ-5000/dp/B079X3DBH8/

The Scythe Fuma 2 is an absolute beast of a cooler.

probably the best bang for buck.. i know many people in this sub can vouch for it. it's miles away from that crappy Wraith cooler. with actually half the price of the pricey air coolers.

it's not going to overclock very well. Better than the stock cooler, but it's not enough of an upgrade.

you don't need a low profile cpu cooler with that case. Even with the noctua name, you're not getting a lot of extra performance out of that specific low profile model.

If you want a $40 cooler, the arctic esports duo may actually do a lot better for you, and the color scheme will even match your case.

If you are using a custom cooler, its most likely better than the stock cooler you get. Check whether the thermal paste is applied right (just the right amount, not too much or too little). With my custom cooler (https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Freezer-eSports-DUO-Configuration/dp/B07MJGNJB3) and even with a high ambient temp (around 30C) my old 7700 never went above 80C. Its better to keep the temps below 90C, in my experience throttling starts around 80+C and the computer does everything to keep the CPU below 100C, even sometimes going below the guaranteed clock speed.
