The AOC G2590fx is on sale right now, just a hair above your price range at $150 but 100% worth it. Just bought the G2590FX a couple of days ago, how does that compare to this monitor? Is it just that this one is IPS and the one I bought is TN?

I should probably stick to the one I have if I'm gaming and (possibly) playing some FPSes?

u/lolimdivine This might be your best bet on a monitor right now if you don't want to wait 7-14 days for restocks on others. It's a little more in cost but so is the quality of the monitor. Also one of the top GSync compatibile monitors on the market imo.

Again, you best pull the trigger now or it's GONE in no time.

Yeah, the difference is pretty noticeable immediately. The RX580 is just barely meeting entry level required for 144hz performance of course. Lower resource games I might play like League of Legends, Rocket League, Dead Cells, CS:GO, Risk of Rain 2 all hold a steady 140+FPS and it looks incredible. Everything else "AAA" or resource heavy in general might rest closer to 60 on mostly high-very high settings. Like Monster Hunter World for instance.

I have AOC G2590FX.

It's SUPER budget, and you can tell in the poor display of deep blacks, and some banding. But overall I feel like the trade-offs are tolerable, and it's a dirt cheap cost of entry for 144hz.

I ended up getting this: AOC G2590FX 25" Framless Gaming Monitor, FHD 1920x1080, 1ms, 144Hz, G-SYNC Compatible+AdaptiveSync, 96% sRGB, DisplayPort/HDMI/VGA, VESA, 25 inch, Black / Red https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D377Q6D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_w20QEb9QRA5ZX

Do you think that’s still okay? I just preferred the frameless look.

Sounds like you have the exact same monitor as me actually. Lowest input lag of any monitor I've used but the picture is really bad in my opinion. No detail in dark areas and overly sharp picture.

Definitely not. It's not just the panel but the controller board. You're better off getting a cheap 144Hz monitor as it makes a huge difference if your PC can run higher framerates.

Here's a good 24.5", 1080p, 144Hz, G-Sync Compatible, TN monitor for $160:

I am still. I would like to play 4K if possible with the given budget. If you are asking how long I will use in a gaming session, I will be using it for fairly long periods of time. If you are asking how long I intend to use it, I will use it for years. I would prefer to upgrade before buying a whole new set up, so extra RAM slots and hard drive slots would be useful as well as anything else to future proof it. I currently use this monitor. The monitor was about $160 (USD) when I had purchased it.

If you really want a 144hz, I recommend saving a little more and get the AOC G2590FX

But the MSI one is fine. I'm not very familiar with the HCK brand

Skip out on the OS for now, put that towards a 3600 CPU and 3600mhz ram. Just get a B450 Max board. You don't need to activate windows to use it. You can buy it later on.

With tha pricepoint in mind DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT get sn IPS laser focus on finding the best TN some TN's have pretty good colors. This AOC comes to mind.

If you dont mind a a curved monitor( I dont like them at this size). You could get a VA it's gonna be worst than TN's at this pricepoint but they're ok. This MSI Optix is OK and looks better

3070 will be released on October 15, and there is little to no chance that you are going to get it on that day (based on 3080 release- scalpers buying using bots and selling at 2x or even 3x prices o ebay). It might take at least a month more for the stocks to be available, and getting it at MSRP.

Also, AMD is releasing it's new processor in October, and it is really worth the wait. So I'll suggest not to take ryzen 7 3700x for now, and just wait till the new CPU gets released.

Regarding the dual monitor, I'd suggest ASUS TUF 24.5" IPS 1080p 144Hz

This is best in terms of refresh rate(144hz) and viewing angles(thanks to IPS Panel) and the ASUS TUF is a very good series, and will cost you 500$ for two.

But in case you need to save a bit of money(70$), you can go for the AOC 24.5" 1080p 144Hz TN Panel

I'd personally suggest to go for the IPS panel one from ASUS TUF, as the colour accuracy and viewing angles would be better, and gives an overall richer experience.

Looking for 144hz 1080p monitor. I have a gtx1060 if that matters. Is the viewsonic xg2402 a good choice? https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-XG2402-FreeSync-Advanced-Ergonomics/dp/B075D1B4SV/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=xg2402&qid=1588718867&sr=8-1&th=1 . Is it worth it to upgrade to the 27 inch version? I also have looked at the aoc g2590fx. https://www.amazon.com/AOC-G2590FX-Framless-1920x1080-DisplayPort/dp/B07D377Q6D/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=aoc+monitor+144hz&qid=1588722858&s=electronics&sr=1-1. Would this be a better option? I can get it for around 30 bucks cheaper than the viewsonic. Any other recommendations? Thanks.

You should not need the Elgato capture card if you have any recent Nvidia GPU which has a pretty good built in hardware video encoder called NVENC.

See Nvidia's OBS NVENC guide, or watch this guys videos he has good beginner streaming guides.

If you don't have a NVENC GPU or have an AMD one (their video encoder is not good) then that Elgato capture card will work, though according to guides you will have to feed the HDMI output of your GPU into the capture card.

If you play online PVP I'd do with a TN panel over VA like this display.
