Anything 1080p 144hz, in my opinion, and will easily be $200 max with the deals coming. Doesn’t break the bank and looks fantastic. I prefer performance over visual.

Example: AOC G2490VX 24" Class Frameless Gaming Monitor, FHD 1920x1080, 1ms 144Hz, FreeSync Premium, 126% sRGB / 93% DCI-P3, 3Yr Re-Spawned Zero Dead Pixels, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FJHMTZJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_b1uTFb02N97YA

IPS: good color good shit contrast VA: GREAT contrast, meh response times TN: high refresh rates shit everything else

Get an IPS. OR if budget allows VA w/ QLED filter (GREAT color, GREAT contrast)

Honestly TN is out in my book. Unless you are the top 2% of eSports gamers. Tech with VA and and IPS makes TN almost old school now as they can all but match response times and refresh rates

24in 1080p 1440Hz VA here

GF runs the 27in version on her rig and it’s been great - especially for the price

Alright thanks for all the help man, I'm about 22"< from my monitor so I might look into some flat VA panels, in particular, I was thinking of getting this one, either the 24" or the 27", since I wanted my budget to be lower than 200 for a monitor

Although this is a pretty good deal considering the laptop's specs, it's not "about the same price as a desktop with similar hardware." For $680, you can get a whole setup that includes:

 • an i3-10100 (better performance due to higher power limits)
 • a 1650 Super (several tiers above a mobile 1650)
 • twice as much RAM
 • a 144 Hz AOC Monitor (G2490VX)
 • a keyboard, mouse, and Wi-Fi 6/BT 5.1 PCIe adapter

I've filtered out the other reviews https://www.amazon.com/AOC-G2490VX-Frameless-1920x1080-Re-Spawned/product-reviews/B08FJHMTZJ/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_viewopt_fmt?ie=UTF8&reviewerType=all_reviews&formatType=current_format&pageNumber=1

Ghosting is inevitable with a VA monitor. The only exceptions are the one that uses high-end VA panels such as the G7 and G9.

Then there's the fact that it's also non-curved, which is sort of desired on a VA monitor to mitigate its viewing angle issues.

The AOC G2490VX is $140. For this type of search I recommend using pcpartpicker to pick out the monitor that best suits what you are looking for: https://pcpartpicker.com/products/monitor/#F=599440000,609600000&D=144000,280000&sort=price&page=1

I've been shopping for a new monitor and lurking the sub here. I don't think this one is as good as these that I've found:

 • $145 AOC C24G1A | 1080p | 24" Curved | VA | 1ms | 165 Hz | Freesync Premium
 • Can adjust monitor by pivoting (left, right), tilting (up, down), and by adjusting height
 • VESA compatible
 • $140 AOC G2490VX | 1080p | 24" | VA | 1ms | 144 Hz | Freesync Premium
 • Can't adjust
 • VESA compatible

GRANTED, these are VA panel types, so say what you want about them but they are cheaper.
