Another G14 and external monitor post
I’ve ordered my g14 with the 4900hs and the 2060maxq and external monitor, this one here, and was wondering what kind of experiences people have had with it, does the gsync work just by plugging it in or is there stuff I have to do? I want usb-c to dvi cable right? I plan on doing the changes to the registry that I’ve seen everyone talking about as well, anyway thanks in advance

AOC 24G2 24'' on amazon. seem like its the go to budget monitor for 144hz and 1ms with IPS. just gotta wait when they restock, they usually run oos a few hours when they restock.
1 points • Acidinmyfridge
There's a few reviews on youtube, seems like a decent monitor.
Personally, i would go with an IPS panel monitor though. There's a 24" version to this as well.

here’s the AOC monitor I was talking about in my last reply.
Currently it’s not in stock but it does come back and it’s usually 209$ if I’m not mistaken. But I could be.

is it this one? if so that not bad at all. better than mine

That's the CQ27G2 which is also a VA panel and worse for gaming, this is the regular 1080p ips cheaper version.

I tried using the search bar and google and everything believe me, but I still can’t figure it out. Will this monitor be able to perform 120 frames for PS5?
I figured it would but then I read that it has to support 120hz through HDMI so I can’t tell if this one does or not. As you can tell I’m not to tech savvy honestly. I also wanted to use this as a second monitor for my MSI laptop which has 144hz so that’s why I wanted this monitor as well
Any help would be much appreciated!

Here's one: https://www.amazon.com/AOC-27G2-Frameless-Adjustable-Guarantee/dp/B07WSK5W7V/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=144hz+monitor+1ms+gsync&qid=1609080357&sr=8-5
It may be $34 over budget but it has all of the specs that you need. Over 15k reviews with a 4.7/5 rating. It has a 1ms response time, meaning no ghosting (no trail behind a moving object or cursor), 144 Hz meaning it can run high framerates up to 144 fps, and an IPS color reproduction, which is current the best.
(also there's one left in stock so... better hurry up!)

How does this monitor look compared to the Dell?
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-C27G1-Frameless-DisplayPort-Adjustable/dp/B07WSK5W7V?th=1&psc=1
It's $100 cheaper and is a ips monitor instead of calling and is also not curved. The only downside seems to be a lower resolution?

Stricly gaming. Budget of around $2000. Yes, there's a microcenter in town. I have dual AOC 27G2 27" Frameless Gaming IPS Monitor, FHD 1080P, 1ms 144Hz, Freesync, Height Adjustable, 3-Year Zero Dead Pixel Guarantee.

Hey Everyone, I'm currentlyooking on purchasing a gaming monitor. I don't have a requirement for 4k or anything. I'm just getting into gaming on pc. Right now I'm trying to decide between:
AOC 27G2
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WSK5W7V/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_h27TEb64C9M68
AOC G2590FX
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D377Q6D/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_i_Fe8TEbV3Q1QES
.. Other than size is there a big difference? Which one would you recommend?
1 points • Laniert
I’d go with the one I listed then. That monitor and an vesa mount will run you about $200-225
There is also this
About the cost of the first one I listed + the price of a mount.
Or if you don’t mind going with a VA monitor/curved..
IPS are generally better but, it’s $144 and pretty good from what I hear.
Hope that helps!

If I may, I just upgraded to a monitor after previously playing on a 55inch tv. Game changing even when playing on the X1S. I got this monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WSK5W7V/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_p9hgFbGSVPET3?th=1
which is 1440p 144hz and the X1S gave me the option to up the resolutions i output to 1440p 120hz (Although I assume this is capped by what the games themself can output). Absolutely great monitor, and I think its a decent price for what you are getting.

That's probably what I would buy.
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-27G2-Frameless-Adjustable-Guarantee/dp/B07WSK5W7V
Or I would wait for that to come back in stock at closer to $250. I think it was $209 actually but it sells out fast every time it comes back.

no i think it's just discord. you can download OBS and see if you get the same lag when streaming with that, just to test. but I've known discord to hit performance way more than it should. like the discord overlay tanked my friends performance in most games.
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-24G2-Frameless-Adjustable-Guarantee/dp/B07WSK5W7V/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1EF7LZ5TZMZGW&dchild=1&keywords=aoc%2B24g2&qid=1603500333&sprefix=aoc%2B24%2Caps%2C223&sr=8-2&th=1 heres the monitor i'd typically recommend, but it's out of stock. it should be around $180. There's a model that's in stock at the right price and the only difference is that it's bigger https://www.amazon.com/AOC-24G2-Frameless-Adjustable-Guarantee/dp/B07ZB2TNZZ/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1EF7LZ5TZMZGW&dchild=1&keywords=aoc%2B24g2&qid=1603500333&sprefix=aoc%2B24%2Caps%2C223&sr=8-2&th=1

Best overall monitor under $250
Hello there Reddit! I'm looking for a sub $250 monitor to purchase for a dual setup, with my only pre-requisites being atleast 23", 144Hz, and good color accuracy/pixel response time. I love IPS panels, but also don't know if they're up to standard as far as refresh times.
In my search, I was heavily discouraged from obtaining curved monitors at that price range, seeing as I may notice visual artifacts from natural light hitting my screen, etc. I'm wondering if this is true?

Some of the options i'm looking at right now would be the AOC 27" IPS panel from the G2 series,
https://www.amazon.com/AOC-27G2-Frameless-Adjustable-Guarantee/dp/B07WSK5W7V
as well as the Spectre E248B

Thank you very much!

If you're really set on saving money. $150
Good monitor that's a little future proof. Would rather get the 24" model but it's not in stock. $210
If you want a balanced monitor that costs a little more but still considered cheap and future proof. $250

Help me build a new PC
I think it's time to upgrade/build a new PC. I've got a budget of about 800-1k, and if possible I'd like to reuse any parts from my old PC that seem worthwhile... it still runs fine and I'm happy at 1080p for gaming, but would like to be able to handle next-gen console titles. My current setup:
- PNY NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 PCI Express 30 Graphics Card
- Corsair 500W power supply
- ASRock Z68 PRO3 GEN3 Intel Z68 ATX DDR3 1066 Intel - LGA 1155 Motherboard
- Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz
- AOC 27G2 27" Monitor ... don't think I am looking for a new monitor, I'm happy at 1080p
- Some hard drives (2 SSD and 1 HDD)... don't think I need a new one here
- Silverstone LC13B-E Aluminum/Steel ATX Media Center/HTPC Case
- Mouse/keyboard etc - don't need new peripherals... what I have is fine
thanks!

I am wanting to get a new monitor as I have an old Dell monitor that is only 60Hz. I'm mainly thinking I want a 27" screen as I think anything bigger would be too much for my space.
My PC specs are: Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 8gb of RAM (Something I plan to upgrade when I can)
Was hoping to get some perspective from you all as I've found some monitors on Amazon but want to make sure I get the most for my money. I'm more of a casual gamer but still want to optimize the best I can.
To add as suggested main game is escape from tarkov but also apex, warzone, divinity, ark. Also just enjoy watching movies and videos on my computer.
Here are some of the ones I'm looking at...
Thank you.

Dude, thanks for the $450 tip on the 2070s, I'll look out for it. Everyone here is saying don't spend the money on the 3800X. I think I might take their advice on that. Or just splurge and go with the 3900X

Parts list is private but it doesnt matter, you would want an 144hz IPS for both framerate and colour accuracy.
