Had mine for 2 weeks and all these are a must have IMO besides the headphones (ear buds work perect for me), also get this AMVR package as it comes with replacement leatherette versions of the front and rear Halo padding, probably the single most important item I've bought bc those halo foam pads got soaked with sweat. If it was me, I would buy replacement pads (forehead, back band, and face) because I know how gross my headset can be after a few hours of beatsaber, and I wouldn't ever want someone else's on mine.

AMVR replacement facial interface. Pretty comfortable and comes with replacements for the Halo foam as well. Much easier to deal with after long, sweaty sessions.

I have this one and it works fine. I wipe it down with an alcohol wipe before and after every use. Just make sure to take showers consistently so it wont smell lol

Maybe replace the default padding with the PU leather replacement? Wipe it down with wipes afterwards and I'd think you should be able to keep it hygienic. This is assuming you're talking about the Rift S.

this is what i ordered for myself. its sold out on amazon but other sellers have it in stock. costed me 45€. think the velcro removable foam is great for quick cleaning without having to get the whole plastic thing off the rift. if i like it i will order myself atleast one more of those leather pads just so i can quickly swop them out. there are some that are intended for velcro on amazon for under 10 bucks.

Yeah that’s just the FOV which is why I can’t wait until future headsets increase them. The only way to make the FOV bigger is to completely remove the face cushion insert but that just lets all the light around you in.

Edit: I replaced all my padding with this kit, and the face mask seems to get a tad closer now.

Late to the party and I hope you're enjoying your new headset. I just received mine last week. One single evening of playing beat saber and I immediately ordered a replacement face visor thing. I can actually share the headset (after a quick wipe with a paper towel) between songs with my gf without a look of pure disgust.

This is a clone of the widely reviewed AMVR set. They didn't even use different pictures. People have a fair number of complains regarding how thin the facial interface is on it. I use this PU leather AMVR complete facial interface for my Rift S. Very comfortable, easy to clean and leaves no marks even after long sessions. Its only downside is the light leaking in from the sides and under the nose. Adjusting the velcro in a way that tightens the facial bracket onto the sides of your face fixes it, but it's kind of hard to get right.

Now that it doesn't leak, I can't imagine going back to the sweat-sponge that is the stock Rift S padding. Even with constant washing, that thing is just not hygienic.

With the heatwave coming soon, I might buy a washable VRCover cloth for the new interface to prevent the leather from feeling sticky against my skin.

Either way, foam and silicone will never be suitable for a VR headset's facial interface.

I replaced my halo pads with the AMVR vinyl/leather set. Makes them easy to wipe off when my husband and I play heat saber. As for the face, I use the silicone.

The AMVR set came with a leather face gasket, but it’s not very soft, and thinner than default. Would not seek on my face very well.

The foam pads of the headset are very absorbent and unhygienic, Not the best when you’re sharing the headset with people or playing long sessions. I personally recommend placing them with AMVR’s PU leather replacement which is more comfortable and easy to clean, alternatively VRCover’s cloth cover if you want something cheaper.

If you play a lot of high activity games you might consider washing the headbands and visor in a solution of water and a mild dish detergent after use. Both the headbands and the visor are removable. They are not easy to remove but it is possible.

They won't last forever

I didn't feel like washing mine all the time ( I washed mine once) So I purchased a replacement kit on amazon. Unfortunately the kit I bought is currently unavailable. The AMVR kit for the Rift S is pretty good quality. Pads are all removable velcro, so they are replaceable. The visor doesn't fit the Rift S that well. I'm considering removing the padding from the oem visor and gluing on the velcro from the AMVR kit. With the faux leather pads I can wipe them down easily if they get sweaty.

They also sell some pretty good grips for the controllers.

The silicone face cover and some of the og rift headphones are a great addition. Plus the pleather head pads if you play anything active like beatsaber. Once all the foam is covered or gone maybe invest in a sweat band to soak sweat from device instead of dripping into circuits.
