Overclock if basically means getting more performance out of the system, like tuning for a car’s engine. I wouldn’t recommend it for first time builders.

The reason I said don’t get the one in video is because it is not priced well. You don’t see much of an improvement over the one that is included with the 3700x.

the stock cooler does come with preapplied thermal paste, make sure your motherboard is compatible first though it is a 3rd gen ryzen cpu

A few weeks ago it was only the game pass.

3800x is listed as coming with 2 games but no game pass.

AMD's promo says you get the game and game pass, .com does not.

Strictly speaking IPC terms the 5600X has 19% IPC increase and is basically a 3700X with slightly less multithreaded performance.

Let's do some quick math. For a 3700X, 1 core is 100% and there is eight of them. 8 * 100% = 800% of total work. One core of a 5600X is 119% of a Zen 2 core, so 119% * 6 = 714% total.

At this point a 5600X is 86% behind a 3700X in multithreaded workloads. However, that doesn't even account for the clock speed increase. Worst case scenario you lose between 86-50% out of the total 800% which is around half a core of a 3700X. For gaming, I'd give that half core for single core performance and higher FPS in games. The 5600X is basically a 3700X with better gaming performance and slightly lower multithreaded performance at $300 which is $5 more than the 3700X on amazon.com

they're pretty evenly matched, the i5-10700 has a bit of an edge if you look at benchmarks and has 2 more cores than the 6-core R5 3600 but also tends to cost a little more, and it comes with an uglier stock cooler.

actually, a more even match for the 10700 is the R5 3700X, which also has 8 cores. The 3700x can be found here for $280 and the RTX 2070 I'm not sure how much it goes for in the Us but in the UK you can get them for around £400. You would still need to buy a motherboard, case, RAM and storage though so it might be a bit too much on your budget.
