Amazon has it for the same price so if you have prime you can get it sooner.

One last thing, this cpu is better for 50$ more, it’s still compatible with the motherboard https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-3600X-12-Thread-Processor/dp/B07SQBFN2D/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=ryzen+5+3600x&qid=1596235282&sprefix=ryze&sr=8-1

But if you can afford an extra 30 bucks on top of the 25 difference from Intel to ryzen then the 3600x would be better. I have the 3600x on my laptop and it runs really good. I'm able to play cod at a smooth 60 frames per second. As well as snow runner and even project cars 2.

It's 25% more cores/threads. In the grand scheme of cost of the build it's still a significant performance increase for minimal cost.

I was thinking of using this one here but partspicker wouldnt let me use any amd cpu so I took my alternative that I recently saw in a build video, where the builder decribed it as better than the standard 3600

I honestly think the Intel 9600K is a great buy right now, and it's weirdly cheap.
You’ll see a lot of people recommend a Ryzen 3600X or similar - which is fine. It’s a really good budget CPU that comes with a half-decent stock fan. This CPU shares a socket (AM4) with the new Zen 3 CPUs from AMD which are expected to release sometime this year, so it's upgradable down the road. This CPU has similar performance to the 9600K, but you should get better gaming performance on the Intel chip due to higher clock speeds. A benefit of the Ryzen chip would be better productivity - so video editing and that kind of thing. Both good for gaming though.
If you’re into esports style gaming, or prefer the highest frames @ 1080p for the lowest price, the 9600K is a great buy. I last saw it for $250 CAD, which is like $190 USD. Stellar price for that performance. If you see a cheaper 9600KF, the 'F' simply means that the CPU doesn't have built-in graphics, which you wouldn't use anyways because you (should) have a dedicated graphics card, so go for that if it's cheaper.
I’d recommend pairing it with an ASUS motherboard (Z390), just my preference. I think ASUS boards have a really nice BIOS, especially for people who aren’t super PC savvy - overclocking should be a breeze if you decide to get a decent cooler. If you aren’t aware, overclocking just pushes a bit more performance out of your CPU, resulting in a bit more heat. The 9600K overclocks well, if I recall, which can make a very large difference when gaming.
Lastly, be aware that motherboards only support certain series of CPUs. You may need to buy a new motherboard if your existing one isn't compatible.
Hope this helps.

You need to look at the specific product page under "Special offers and product promotions".
For example your 3600X only shows the game pass.
On the other hand the 3900X shows both the game pass AND the game.
The landing page you linked only says up to 2 games for select processors. It's a scummy practice, but fortunately Amazon is very good about returns so like I said you can just return it and buy from another retailer, just make sure their produce page says you get both the game and the game pass.

3600x is being sold for $209. 50% increase is accurate more or less.
And no, it doesnt make sense to say "you cant compare 3600x at today's price to launch 5600x price," because that is a not the real choice buyers have in front of them today.
Come Nov 5th, I could buy a 3600x at $209, or a 5600x at $300. How much extra performance will I get in 1440p for that 44% price increase?

You probably wont need the hyper 212 evo. With that saved money look to upgrade to a 3600x.
Windows 10 is free so you can save money on that (if you dont want the watermark, you can buy it pretty cheap on ebay and other websites). The case comes with one exhaust fan and no intake so id reccomend getting a couple intakes. the Arctic F12's are pretty decent but can get loud under full load. If you have the money to spare, id get the Be Quiet! Silent Wings 3.
Hope this helps OP!

It's true that it will work but you will not have a good experience. If I were you i would look for a new motherboard and CPU, because you wont be able to even play at 1080p with that CPU.
Here's some links: A Good Motherboard
And A CPU: CPU
and you'll also need new RAM: RAM
All this is about 360 Bucks
If you get these or something around the performance of these parts then you can upgrade. But if you go with the 2060 with that CPU you'll be wasting your money
1 points • Hypeislove
I'd look into a Ryzen CPU. Something like an R5 3600 with a b450 max board runs around 300$ with 16gb of 3600 ram totaling 390ishhhhh. The I5 does work but 4 core 4 Thread compared to 6 core 12 threads is going to be a huge upgrade. You can even splurge for a 3600X if you don't wanna mess with clocks and get a tiny more performance.

R5 3600X - $200
B450 Tomahawk MAX - $115

You can save 20 bucks by going with a Ryzen 5 3600X instead of the 3600. Better performance out of the box, and the better included Wraith Prism cooler means you wouldn't need to buy the Gamma cooler. Better performance and $20 savings. https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-3600X-12-Thread-Processor/dp/B07SQBFN2D/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=ryzen+5+3600x&qid=1583655320&sr=8-1
Save another $45 by going with a B450 Tomahawk Max over the X570 board, 3000 series compatible out of the box. Based on your parts list it doesn't look like you need PCIe 4.0 which is about the only difference the X570 offers. The Tomahawk can also handle a 3950X if you decide to upgrade a little later down the road. If you're sold on the TUF gaming board, you can save $30 by going with the TUF X470 Gaming Plus which is, as the name implies, the X470 version of the board you've picked. AMD will send you a loaner CPU to update the BIOS on this one for free.

You can save $8 and get more storage by going with a 500gb NVME and a 2 TB HDD instead of what you've got picked out. OTOH, I do think the prices you have listed for storage are pretty damn good even though they're backwards of what most people usually do.

Reposting because Automod got mad at my url shortener.
You had the unfortunate timing to build a pc right at the end of DDR3 RAM being standard, so any CPU upgrade will require both a new motherboard and memory. To answer your questions, yes you could run multiple different RAM kits but you're going to want a CPU upgrade soon which would mean that adding more DDR3 RAM would be kind of pointless.
I don't recommend running multiple different types of graphics card, so if you want to upgrade that you have two choices. The first is to drop in another GTX 970, which is a good idea for WFH and multitasking as well as multi monitors, but beware that some applications like games don't scale well in SLI. The other option is to sell your 970 and buy a new GPU, though I would recommend holding off until RTX 3000 series to do that.
So, right now this is a decent system as a starting point. The first thing I would go for is a new CPU and with it RAM and a mobo. Then, after that, a new graphics card in place of the 970, but wait until next gen to do that so you could get whatever the successor is to the RTX 2060 Super. Then if you find yourself hitting your SSD hard you could look at an M.2 NVMe SSD.
Here's what I would do right now (links to parts below because automod hates me):
Grab a Ryzen 5 3600X (it's on sale right now), slap your existing cooler on it, and get a motherboard to go with it such as the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
That motherboard uses DDR4 RAM instead of DDR3 so you will need a new 16 GB Kit. The Ryzen CPU likes fast memory and this G.Skill kit linked below is some of the best value for DDR4 3600 CL16
When Nvidia releases RTX 3000 in a few months, buy the 60 or 70 model and something like a WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSD. You could sell your 970 to help pay for it, it's still a solid card and someone will want it for a budget build. Actually for that matter, someone will probably want to buy your old CPU, mobo, and RAM as well.
Once all of that is done you will have all the upgrades you'll need for a good few years.

The one he has on his list is the Ryzen 5 3600x which is great, but if you want to really impress him you could get him the Ryzen 7 3700x which I have, and it goes amazingly with the RTX GeForce 2070 Super, which I have as well.

Looks solid, but I think putting in an AMD combo would give you more bang for the buck.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600x - $195
AIO: Corsair H60 - $80
Motherboard: ASRock B450 - $95
OR ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F - $122
Keyboard - Durgod Mechanical Keyboard
Go on Ebay for a $5-10 dollar windows key, and put that money for a better keyboard.
If you decide to go with the ASRock, I would recommend either get a Water Cooler. If you can make it work, get higher frequency RAM, as AMD CPU's do better because of it. Also, beware of that case, the 2060's can get pretty hot and you need to optimize for good air flow. There are great cheap RGB fans on amazon that are similar to corsair's, like upHERE.

It's not THAT much better, so I'd recommend the cheaper one. Depends mostly on the monitor you buy. 1080p 144hz recommended at least) Power supply https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Supernova-Modular-Warranty-220-G5-0650-X1/dp/B07WDLTKNM Case https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Carbide-Tempered-Mid-Tower-Gaming/dp/B07PF1TBZF
Sorry for the formatting, on mobile.

Understandable, a overclocked Ryzen 5 3600 or a 3600x would also be a huge upgrade.

This is also a quite good deal, 32 gb of ram + Ryzen 5 3600

Didn't even realise it was bought, so no point in hassling myself trying to change any minds too badly, but I will say this.
so a 10600k is $308
a 3600 is $214
so if you understood what I wrote earlier and agree with it but disagree because of pricing... Basically it's about $100 more, so your pc runs not only much better for games but also lasts for about 4-5 years. Sounds like a no brainer to me?

Prior to my computer starting to squeal, I was already wanting to upgrade, because I wanted to get Civilization 6, but my GPU couldn't even support DirectX 11 (and Civ6 prefers DX12). So in searching for what I'd need to play Civ6, I came across this list (source):
CPU: AMD R5 3600X
Graphics Card: GTX 1660 Ti
Motherboard: MSI X570-A Pro
RAM: 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR4-3000
Storage: 1TB Intel SSD
Power Supply: SeaSonic Focus 550
CPU Cooler: Stock
Case: Fractal Design Focus G
What's your evaluation of it?

i would go with the ryzen 5 3600X ($180ish) and a rtx 2060 ($330ish) for motherboard i would go with a b550 or the ROG Strix ($120) for the Power Supply i would go with a 650 watt unit. ram i would probably do something with 3600 speed ($60-$80) case can be whatever but it has to be ATX.

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-10th-generation-comet-lake-pricing-cpus

Quotes from Article: The i5-10600 could hit the retail market with a price tag of $230-$250. This means that the unlocked model, the i5-10600K or i5-10600KF, will ultimately cost even more. If this pricing is accurate, Intel is in big trouble. AMD's Ryzen 5 3600X, which also sports six cores and 12 threads, is selling for as low as $214.
One of the more interesting duels will likely be between the i5-10400F, which apparently costs $160-$175, and the Ryzen 5 3600 that's priced at $175. Both fighters come with six cores and 12 threads, so it'll be exciting to see which comes out as the winner.
The Comet Lake Core i3 chips seem to cost $130-$180. This is a very dangerous territory to for Intel to compete in, considering the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 is in the same price range. Although Intel has enabled HyperThreading on the Core i3, the i3 chips are still at a two core disadvantage compared to AMD's Ryzen 5 chips.

Note that AMD's Ryzen 3600X currently sells for $180 not the $214 quoted in the article and the Ryzen 3600 is selling for $160 not $175.

So the 10 series from Intel are DOA.
